  1. I have some counters with a very similar portrait on will look them out and post pictures
  2. Everything else he has listed is modern and I'm guessing he didn't know 1) what it is and 2) what its worth (not that I do either). I never expected to win it though and I can see many hours being spent on trying to find out what it is! Another item to add to my collection of 'unusual'
  3. Lol too late now!
  4. Well no nuclear explosion......he's only accepted! I wait with baited breath. Now where's that best offer 1879 sovereign?
  5. Well its not been rejected automatically! Fingers crossed
  6. Its 32mm so half crown size, I know it will be rejected but I'm going to put a cheeky offer of £50 in and see what happens as I rather like it. that's my limit though!
  7. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what this is? It's intrigued me and if it was a sensible price I'd probably buy it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-sovereign-showing-St-George-slaying-the-dragon-mule-is-a-coin-medal/173185461481?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  8. It looks like a coronation 'medal' for Victoria, quite poor condition though I'm afraid
  9. I've come to this view too, if your happy with the look of a coin (or token in my case) and the price is acceptable for me that's the end of the discussion! I'm sure many will disagree though
  10. Thank you for the thought Paulus but i already have this type
  11. Lol I couldn't see it at first but on closer inspection spotted it....it's all I can see now!
  12. Thanks for that Paddy I will have a look and see what's what
  13. Hi Paddy.....there is nothing at all written on the edge. Could you post a link to the site? I'd like to have a look and compare. Yes that definitely fits more with the motif but how it ties in with the 'knights' I don't know
  14. Good Afternoon all, Strictly speaking not a coin but definitely 'non British' I've identified this as a commemorative of the 500th anniversary of the imprisonment of the Knights Templar at Domme, what puzzles me is the Latin 'id occulte fere' which translates as 'almost disguise' on google. Is this translation correct and if so can anyone tell me the relevance of it and of the woman. Also I'd like opinions on whether members think this is an 1807 strike or later restrike. Medalet weighs 10gm and is 28mm in diameter with no marks/signatures possibly in silver
  15. Also found basketball and weightlifting, cant help with the wrestling I'm afraid
  16. Afternoon Mr B, just going through my spares and have got shooting and triathlon so far if you still need them
  17. Your right sleepy, just looked at my trade dollar and its identical
  18. Thanks guys for the suggestions but nothing has worked, will just have to put up with it for now as everything else on here and other websites loads fine and quickly
  19. I can see yours Mr T but many others are missing including my own
  20. Must be then, I'll have to check it out
  21. Is it just my laptop/internet connection not loading things properly or have other members noticed that many of the avatars have been replaced with a cross in a little box? It's not a problem really just wondering
  22. Bid placed all i have to do now is wait and see!
  23. On, yet another, inspection there are a couple of faint scratches in the field of the obverse and some wear on a few of the high points so realistically it's an EF not AUNC. The price is estimated at £80-£120 which I think is grossly under estimated and I think I've been looking at it with blinkers on because of the estimate as I know there is better out there. Thank you Rob for making me see sense! The token it is, I shall add to the money I don't spend and look for one in a few months time
