Well you came back and followed it up, so that proves you were not merely advertising. What that auction site needs to do, is somehow persuade lots of dealers to auction things on it continuously and at the same time spend lots of money on promotion to get the audience there. When ebay was just starting out, there was no ebay to compete with it. Now ebay already exists with it's massive audience and amount of lots it's practically impossible for any newcomers. Auction sites that start themselves now, need a lot of money or to be tied to an existing brand. If I were to start up an aution site I'd find a few thousand things to auction first and spend as much money as I could on promotion.

I suppose those are all pretty good reasons to push him out and let it go to the Duke of York, you have to take being a King quite seriously I would have thought. I sold a 1937 set without the crown or case, 2 days ago for £110.00 If the case was not nice, £120 was probably not really a bargain. The spink price is really for absolutely perfect coins and case, strictly speaking, with no toning...Although that's near enough impossible because the inside of the case tones the coins.

They are there, if you're willing to take a chance. Without any risk at all, I have literally hundreds of little bargains on this website

I sometimes do, but when someone wants a particular coin and is willing to pay a fair price I usually end up selling! I do have a few things put aside, but they never stay there for long!

The initials under the bust tell me that it is definitely modern, Donald R Golder did that one in probably about 1999 I believe, re modelled for a special African coin to commemorate 100 years of the British monarchy, that never was. Don't touch it with a barge pole, and the seller is either a fool, or lying. Isn't it potentially dangerous with all these patterns around, when they fall into foolish hands....And it already has a bid. Knowledge is power.
