  1. There's much controversy about cleaning. I once bid on an 1887 silver set that a dealer there said he wouldn't touch "it's been cleaned". What I'd seen was coins with a mirror finish, and some people it seems can't tell the difference and categorise any old silver coin without toning as "cleaned". They aren’t, always.

  2. As a regular seller, I am sure you are aware of the following, but I restate it for the record.. There are a many added fees for additional services which, IF you use them can add up very rapidly (ie: bold, picture paks, highlighted, additional country site, etc.). On a lower priced item, these fees can vastly increase your cost percentage. These fees are less likely to be as obvious nor skew your percentages on a higher priced sale. Another factor to consider is the cost of listing and relisting items that do not sell the first time around. It's very easy to jack your costs up with little or no appreciative added value to your gross sale. The fees only serve to cut into your net profit and/or increase your expenses.

  3. Three squirrels were sitting on animal hides... The first squirrel was sitting on a rabbit hide and weighed one pound. The second squirrel was sitting on a wolf hide and weighed two pounds. And the third squirrel was sitting on a hippopotamus hide and weighed three pounds. This proves that the squirrel on the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squirrels on the other two hides.
