It does look like there should be something at the top - perhaps a storage drawer as you suggest. It looks like a nice cabinet though - would it be worth taking it anyway and having something made to fill the gap? You could then customise it to suit. Even if there is a couple of drawers missing it's still a really nice example and as Mr B says you can always get a couple of drawers made to your requirements

I've just bought a Victorian coin cabinet on eBay but am now having second thoughts whether it is complete. Is there a storage drawer or a couple of trays missing in view of the gap at the top of the trays shown in the photographs. The seller is being very reasonable and is holding off from despatching the item until I decide. Does anyone have any suggestions about this? Here is my 53 proof set, the silvers(cupro nickle) are all cameo, and only the half penny is cameo (frosted) out of the bronzes

Happened to me and Numismatist about 3 years ago when we were both after a catalogue. According to his post he was a bit perturbed at the rapidly changing situation. Here A pair of happy campers. He was happy he lost. I was happy I got it below my maximum. Doubles all round.

Declan, The triple "F" 1860 penny is a Gouby BP1860Jd. It has the really nice triple "F", plus a double "T", and a double "1" in the date. I have one slabbed AU55BN by NGC. Gouby shows 10+ known, with the Best at AU90.

I would say quite rare in decent condition, this is only the second I’ve seen on EBay. LCA has sold several, one of which is in my collection. It would be a single die coin, I would anticipate a Freeman rarity in the mid teens. I think the price reached was a little high given the edge knock and light cleaning, but not extortionate. Jerry

I had the same issue Zooey. I sent in a F192A Penny (1922/27) with full documentation, and it came back a F192 Penny...and they lost my documentation!They graded it ok on grade (VF I think), but they took a $4,000 coin and turned it into a $50 coin!

Think it just keeps the interest looking for something you have not got even if the difference is hardly noticeable. Will only cost pence to buy one and never going to be worth anything its just the looking and comparing with others. I bought a penny for 99p last week that is worth nothing to most people but had been looking for one for months Thats why i want to know..........What in crying out loud is a FINGER PENNY
