  2. "The centre "A" bar is clear and solid. The coin I have clearly shows this. Nice to find one that has a MG number associated and from what I can see no other examples are known. When I look at the earlier prices for the F90 you can clearly see the early sales are higher value for worse condition coins. And as they have been discovered the prices drop off. Does this apply to this type?
  3. its what I found on saturday: BP1860Jb (Gouby D+d; Freeman 2+D) – V over inverted A in VICTORIA

  5. thinking more about Maundy coins, I recall being offered a boxed set..... I was awake that morning at silly o'clock trudging around a field looking at one stop away from the local refuse site....It was something like the box was dated 1906 and all the coins inside were 1907....a marriage me thinks...I now see these on Ebay with the declaration of being uncirculated, genuine etc etc etc !?!?! to be honest I gave up as I have so much to work through and need to get this in a order, I did fill the gap In Grandads 3 Pence's and my upgrade ones that are really worn out...I held on to the really early Victorians as these although worn out they seem to be quite a rare thing to come by..... 🤔
  6. Many thanks for that, very much appreciated. Think I’m going to get the camera out, though, CGS haven’t captured the lustre or golden tone at all
  7. Here you go @Coinery! Sorry for the delay.
  8. Do I have this one on my website ?
  9. Here's a definite Vigtoria. I don't think your G looks the same, even allowing for the condition. Compare it to the two Gs in D.G. and REG on "your" coin and I think it's pretty clear. Personally I think the seller saved you £6.

  11. I too would doubt that it is a VIGTORIA, speaking as someone who already owns one. The ‘G’ component is not large enough or the right shape, though I agree the blurred photo is vaguely similar at a glance. Don’t loose sleep over it. And don’t advertise or share images until a coin is in your hand! Jerry

I believe the legend of your coin is 10cf rather than ab, though there are the occasional exceptions. Your coin is missing a lot of information at key points, but the crown, whilst double-struck, is very much in the 10cf5 camp for me, with the left arrowhead ornament leaning left, and the left fleur in its broken configuration. See Blunt’s crown 5 examples here (one with the broken left fleur), with yours (next post) for direct comparison.
  14. Certainly does'nt look like a G does it.
  15. I wouldnt lose any sleep over it as NOT one 👍.
  16. By shared I mean I sent the images to a few people not posted it to any forum or the open internet...
  17. The reason I'm careful what I share is because I found this coin below 1862 VIGTORIA and purchased the coin. I shared the images of the coin using the seller's images and strangely a few hours after purchasing the seller refunded me my £6 and said they cant find the coin.... Is it possible somebody done a reverse image search, contacted the seller and offered a few hundred quid I dont know. Or maybe its a true story. If you see this coin anywhere on the internet for sale please let me know. The damage/pitting under the chin is quite unique plus the rim damage. I was was quite disheartened as I searched high and low for that coin. Strangely after obviously contacting the seller a fair few times to see if the coin reappeared they didnt respond apart from once asking why is the coin so valuable?????? Il leave that with you.
  18. Me too ! I got the rarity rating wrong though..Its not R19 its Gouby R9.. I can only find information about one other known example. But there is probably more out there ! The other known example is much better condition than the coin I have purchased. The type is clear as day in the seller's images but Im going to wait until I receive the coin before sharing anything. I also only want to share my own images to avoid any reverse image searches.
  19. Looks more like a 10cf to me. Definitely London.
  20. another dip into the hoard.... I have taken a long look at Rod Blunts pages at the crowns.... this leads me to think it may be Edward I, 11a-11c 1310-1314 .....? it weighs 1.3 grms slim face... Civi Tas is readable ...as a assumption it could be Lon Don that follows...?
  21. Looking forward to seeing this.
  22. Welcome to the forum @Marcin. I can see the defect you mention. I am not much into note collecting, so I don't know if this is a known issue. My first concern would be to check if they are genuine as there are a lot of fake notes around at the moment. Find a local friendly shop and get them to check one on their detector.
  23. Like you can see under a Queen nose, white line. Anyone else seen things like that???
  24. Probably a die fill in my opinion. I posted a gun money shilling on here not long back that read RFX instead of REX. Pretty common thing.
  25. Last week
  26. Anyone seeing this defect??
