Hi i found some more coins from that have Elizabeth ii and various other heads on top. Some such as the 1888 queen Victoria coin aren't visible clearly and dates on some such as the 1924 florin are faded. Are these coins worth keeping or selling or should they be thrown away?

Thanks

1924 is 50% silver and therefor has silver content value in it, even if worn to a disc

Also this 1962 shilling http://share.pho.to/6YKnF http://share.pho.to/6YKq1

on ebay goes for £89 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/221509597607?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0

and on other sites goes for more. Would i be expected a similar price to the ones on ebay or not as the quality isn't as good as the one in the picture

Errrrr no, yours is virtually a disc, but is .925 silver. The ebay one is overpriced as its on ebay. Take ebay coin prices with a pinch of salt. In order to get top $ for ANY coin they would have to be extremely high grade and the ebay one is'nt

That one on eBay is a joke at £89. If the obverse was as good as the reverse, you might be in with a chance at 89, but it looks like one to avoid. It looks like a classic case of pricing to the best side rather than the worst.

All UK silver pre-1947 is at least 50% silver, pre-1920 is sterling silver. All those worn shillings with a lion on a crown are at least 50% silver. I see an Edwardian example, which providing it's not dated 1905, is worth silver bullion value.

A 1862 shilling books at £40 in fine.

I wouldn't pay book .......plus the ebay coin is below fine and yours is good at best.

you might get a £5.00 from a date filler collector but then you have postage and the hassle of ebay.
