WilliamIII Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Hello!I bought this Conder token, a 1793 Sherborne halfpenny, but I don't know if it's rare or not. I don't know also its Dalton & Hamer number. I would like to know if someone here has a scale with the condition and value to give me an idea. Looks like UNC or so.Thank you very much!! Quote

Peckris Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Thank you and is there any value for higher grade?I'd go with GEF and value it between £175 and £200? (Based on the valuations given above). Quote
bagerap Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 UK action on Conders has been a bit depressed lately, which is great for the US buyer. I'd say £140-160 on a good day here, and probably $325 retail in the States. Quote

WilliamIII Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Wow! I love what I read! It is my first coin in the 18th century with lustre and I paid half of what you are telling me... Thank you very much, it's appreciated! Quote

Thank you very much, it's appreciated! As long as you keep collecting it will happen again. On other occasions you will pay over the odds. That's collecting life. Taken as a whole you should do ok long term as long as you look at purchases objectively. By all means pay a bit more for something you really, but equally don't be afraid to walk away. A bargain is not always what it seems. Quote
