azda Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Whichever way you put it, Lloyd should be thankful he did stop for a beer or a pee, whichever it was. Its obvious who robbed him had followed him from the fair, given a different scenario and he had gone all the way home without stopping there could have been several other permutations, such as they could have robbed his home and/or it could have been a robbery with violence and he could have been seriously hurt given the fact they had no qualms about launching a brick through his window. They must be Professionals also to be able to disarm the alarm on the car and know what they are looking for. Colin88 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I'd definitely seek to restore my stock to the bank or safe before going to the pub Quote
NRP Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I'd definitely seek to restore my stock to the bank or safe before going to the pubMe too.I think that sometimes dealers (not just coin delears) get very blase about the value of the stock that they have with them or on them. There have also been frequent and targetted robberies of several Portobello Road antique dealers in the recent months to the extent that the stall holders and shop owners have been asking for some sort of police protection when closing up stalls in the evenings and opening their shops in the early mornings. It doesnt help that our politically correct traffic wardens, sorry, Police Force, appear to treat robbery and theft as just an annoying form filling excercise for them ...."here's your crime reference number"...another box ticked Sarge. Colin88 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 If my memory serves me right...is this not Lloyd's 3rd robbery?....if so, he is a very unlucky man or needs a minder ! Quote

Yes it is his 3rd time, I think that this is a good idea Colin, everyone knows someone who is fairly "handy" or at least large in size, I bet for £50 to £100 you could get them as a minder if only to come with you to and from a show Quote

HistoricCoinage Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 Crikey, Clive, you certainly do get around! I go to as many fairs as I can but tend to frequent the London and York ones more than others. I haven't had a table...yet. Quote
