RLC35 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I have one, and found the same issue. Not very good for coins, it always has a reflection, or a halo effect! Quote

Rob Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Looks ok, but only you can say if it is a true representation of the colours. Quote

Peckris Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Cropping all the red from around the. coin also helpsYes, too much red for comfort! Instead of cropping, you could just 'magic wand' select the red in an image editor and change it to - say - dark blue. Quote
Coinery Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Looks ok, but only you can say if it is a true representation of the colours.Which is undoubtably the hardest thing to replicate with images of coins...especially silver...and particularly proofs! It's o so easy to love toned coins when you are photographing them! Quote
Red Riley Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 First attempt at taking a photo of my coins.Whats the general opinion as comments are appreciated? To me this looks perfectly OK but due to the deep engraving lines and general 'busy-ness' of the design, these are amongst the easiest to photograph. Try an Edward VII or George V obverse. You may have the same problems with Napoleon III too! Quote
