Accumulator Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) It's a Freeman 102, dies 9+J. I was an underbidder, but to be honest was worried about the slight rim damage apparent on the obverse. Edited January 21, 2013 by Accumulator Quote
Red Riley Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 It's a Freeman 102, dies 9+J. I was an underbidder, but to be honest was worried about the slight rim damage apparent on the obverse. She was selling a whole lot of top end pennies last week and I did actually buy one, an 1865. Turned out to be an absolute cracker - virtually BU, which is extremely rare among early buns, so well pleased with my purchase, even if it did take a fair while to reach me. Quote
Gary Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I was watching that one as well, the price rapidly went up to above 300 a couple of days after it was listed. She still has a few nice pennies on ebay. Quote
pies Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 Wish you lot would stop looking at "my" coins Quote

I'm not surprised that 1881 reached the figure it did. It's a gem, notwithstanding the fault you refer to, and very hard to come by in high grade. Quote
Benny who Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Has it been struck twice,as there is an outline of her face just in front of the trident? Quote
