A gold half sov would be around 4g, suggesting this one is, despite the seller's belief, base metal.

I don't know why anyone would have made a model coin from the correct metal. An RM pattern, yes, but a model, not so much. But maybe someone else has ideas?

i was lucky enough to get around £20 for one of these once - there a few avid collectors around ,

They are always brass never silver or gold

I have contacted the seller and pointed out that it is brass not gold.

The seller is either away or chooses not to reply/alter/end the item.

I have therefore contacted ebay and told them it is a fraudulent listing.......................

The seller had better try not being a dishonest tw*t then.

No need for a disguise, I prefer standing toe to toe with people.

Funny enough seller does not say if it is 9 carat 18 carat or 21 carat gold - it's a bit important is it not? :)

Looks like the punter who is the highest bidder has 4 further higher bids on it.

So nice to see that the seller sv1954 is such an honest seller..... no mention of the fact that he/she has been told it IS NOT GOLD. Uses my favourite "private listing style auction" as well, just so that bids can be "helped along" if need be!

Ebay are even better. Report it as a fraudulent listing and they do sweet FA.
