It was. He seemingly had everything to live for. Great job, well off, massively respected, gorgeous wife, and 2 kids.

Gary Speed was a brilliant role model for any budding footballer (he was also manager of Wales)

He was only on TV yesterday.A shock to say the least and a big shame.

It is a mystery how a man can seemingly have everything, but feels something is missing. In contrast someone might have nothing, yet have it all together and be completely at peace with their predicament. But there is always the plausibility that there is might more to the story than is out in the presses.

I recently read on one of the military reunion forums that he was about to be outted as gay by one of the tabloids. How true I don't know, but it may of had a part in it.

Agreed. In these enlightened times, it's possibly more shocking to be outed as straight when everyone thought you were gay. Imagine poor old Lionel Blair!
