Peter Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Over the last few days Rendel has put on Andy's website (Onlinecoins) a few nice pieces of copper.Two really interested me but didn't quite tick all the boxes.A 1714 Anne 1/d in GF £375 & A 1860 mule for £195 (described as GF+ looks more like NF)I would of thought the Anne would do OK on Ebay. (S)he's actually David Mason, who used to be World Coins in Canterbury, but who took himself off to Spain a few years ago. I think he called himself Megan after his daughter. Quote

I've been looking through some of my Coin Monthly issues from the late 60s. There were plenty of women around in those days. I've learned to generally ask for images before ordering now...... This applies to several sellers...PS: The first time that I was placed in contact with Laurie Bamford, I too expected a female on the other end, not realizing that is was short for Laurence.. Peter Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 Pictures of the Anne depending upon cheque clearance etc.....I'm not looking for patterns but I've convinced myself this was currency...just the rare varieties to chase down now as I've faithfully informed Mrs Peter that my farthing purchases in the future will be rare (albeit expensive)...I need 1771 a&c1856 R/E 1915 rare variety(I actually have a copy of coin monthly which identified this type)....Those were the days of a decent publication.....Coin news is TAT. I get the impression that the number of collectors in the UK has increased substantially over the last few years, but still we haven't got a magazine that even comes close to giving us what we want, which is sad. Last time round if I remember rightly, we came to the conclusion that it would just be too much hassle to produce one from scratch. Quote
