Good evening...

Does anyone have an image to share of the 1874-H penny with the I reverse? I have not seen one and I am curious as to how different the light houses as well as the trident shaft from the H reverse. Any help would be appreciated- Many thanks in advance.

Note the tall helmet plume. Unique to reverse I.

Here's my more worn F69- maybe helpful....

That's a really nice strong VF example. The F69 is not very difficult to get hold of per se, but it is extremely difficult to obtain in grades above near fine.

Mike- my thoughts exactly. Came in very cheap, a gamble on a fuzzy picture, and I like it in this condition- it's been in circulation,

and it's humanised to some extent. Obviously, if a BUNC one came in cheap I'd be pleased, but I'd _like_ this one more...

GVF, some would say NEF with great hair detail remaining. A nice coin, and rare that good.

ooh...I'm a bit amazed at the response, Gentlemen.  I know it's a bit of a rarity,  but I assumed that there were many other better specimens

Not a bad deal at £16, I thought.

No really - you read that correctly🙂

Blake, the very best specimen I've seen is EF - Richard's example.

Mine is the ex Frank Stephenson specimen, which I bought from PFK Auctions in August 2017 for £400 hammer. About VF, but nibbled round the edges, bashed in the centre of the reverse, and nowhere near as good as Blake's.

Bernie has a lovely AU specimen. I'll post it with his permission.

Thanks Richard - that's definitely one I'll look forward to seeing.

It's a very nice coin especially for the price, but I'd rate the grade lower : VF for the obverse, but not quite VF for the reverse. Pp 72 and 113 of the 'book'. (However, grading is partly a subjective  thing).
