zookeeperz Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Hi chaps. Hopefully I called it right and not lumbered myself with another no hoper lols Is this the rarer 1874 H Obverse 7 reverse I that's freemans die pairings. Pretty positive on obverse and reverse seems to fit the description narrow date close numerals small rock to right. Cheers Quote
Paddy Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Well as you know, I am new to varieties, but to me that looks more like reverse H. I think the date is wider on the I... This is my one that was identified as reverse I on this forum: Quote

Note the taller helmet plume and slightly bulkier, shorter lighthouse. Quote
zookeeperz Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 Yes it's my own fault for not reading the reverses properly. It's even worse with the half pennies. Be ok on mint condition coins in your hand under magnification but for all that description it is wasted on actually identifying anything from online coins. I've lost my mojo . Now I see something of interest and ignore it as it is probably not even a coin and a lump of coal lols Quote

Pictures are often not good enough on worn specimens, Richard. 1 Quote
