Paddy Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 I have had this thing knocking around for a while - does anyone know anything more about it? It matches the 1797 penny in size but has the extra wording over Britannia on the reverse. It appears very new and I assume some sort of fantasy piece, but I have not seen any others. Quote
bagerap Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Looks to be one of the Donald Golder pieces, came out for the Millennium I think. 1 Quote

I wonder how my one got separated from it's set. Doesn't seem as if they were a huge success as an investment if the boxed set of 3 only made £48 including commission! Now all I need is someone who is missing one from their set... Quote

It has been in my odds and ends box for sale for a while. When anyone has asked about it I have not been able to give a sensible answer, now I can. Quote
NRP Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Yes they are modern repros, from memory I think they were sold at £19.99 for the set. 1 Quote
whitedb Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Colin Cooke still list them for sale, £24.99, copper or gold alloy. Your choice. Quote
