mrbadexample Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Still practicing. Is this F24, 4+F? Quote
Martinminerva Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 No. It's F22, 4+D and very common. You can just make out what's left of the LCW below the shield. Quote
1949threepence Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 No Jon, that's not reverse F. Reverse F has a distinctly rounded lighthouse top - that one hasn't. Looks like it could be obverse 4 though, which would make it an F22 IMO.. Quote
mrbadexample Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Thanks both. Thought I must be going daft somewhere! Quote
alfnail Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Here is a reverse F for information. As Mike says, rounded lighthouse top................also distinct rock formation, perhaps easiest 'F' characteristic to spot. 4 Quote
mrbadexample Posted February 28, 2018 Author Posted February 28, 2018 Thanks Ian. I initially thought that the rock you’ve pointed out was there on the one I posted, but have since realised it’s in the wrong place. As you say, the lighthouse top is an easy indicator. 🙂 Quote

mrbadexample Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 (edited) F108? Edited August 14, 2018 by mrbadexample Quote
PWA 1967 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 (edited) F97 and F108 i think Jon 😊 Edited August 14, 2018 by PWA 1967 Quote
terrysoldpennies Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I would agree with Pete on the 1881H being an F108 But the 1879, its difficult to be sure as it is so worn with most indicators unclear , but the F in F:D: is slightly rotated clockwise and looks to me more like the Obv. 8 so looks more likely to be the F96 . PWA 1967 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I go off the raised thicker letters if worn ,definately not F98 though Jon as that is the really narrow (close) date. Quote
mrbadexample Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 I think Pete's right with F97. Thanks both. Quote
