  1. Thanks Terry. That was my thought too (honest!). What about the obverse then please? This I found much harder and I gave up.
  2. Sorry the picture's a bit crap but can you tell me which Freeman reverse this is (and what identifies it as such) please? Cheers, MBE
  3. I'd suggest ebay might be your best bet, without seeing what you have. Things tend to find their level.
  4. I couldn't agree more. The Beatrix Potter series of coins is the worst thing we've ever produced, by quite some margin. Solely designed as a RM money maker.
  5. All I could see was a little bit of silver in the guilders and you'd get £2 back for the £2.
  6. That's because it's 1782. Think you dodged a bullet there.
  7. Where was the value in that lot? £75?
  8. Where do you think I got it?
  9. I refuse to draw a line anywhere. 1872:
  10. How was it described at the Heritage auction he claims as provenance?
  11. Likewise. Think I filled 26 gaps.
  12. A seller to avoid. Does a nice line in silver plated 2ps and Chinese fakes too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unidentified-Tiny-Ancient-Celtic-Geometric-Type-Silver-Coin-6mm-Diameter/292424026458?hash=item4415d4895a:g:A-kAAOSwwZtaakOy
  13. I don't have an 1897 O'NE penny - could it be a feature common to all?
  14. Cheers. As far as I know the dot between the letters in ONE is documented but not sure about the others. Where's Pete when you need him?
  15. I can't see the pictures without signing in to something. Which I have no intention of doing. Are you able to post them here please?
  16. I think the odds of receiving the pictured coin are about the same as receiving a penny farthing bicycle.
  17. I said description, not title: Uncirculated 1862 Victoria farthing penny in amazing condition very old and rare coin Penny 1862 Small Date from Halfpenny die Freeman 41dies 6+G, Fine and superior to most examples seen of this type, Very rare with all major details very clear, the finest we have handled, and possibly one of the finest knownexamples http://londoncoins.co.uk/?page=Pastresults&searchterm=1862+Halfpenny&searchtype=1 Lot 2981, the penny.
  18. Description robbed from LCA but not sure about the pictures. But definitely a bargain as worth £1600+ and up for just £350. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Uncirculated-1862-very-rare-Victoria-farthing-penny/202201957087?hash=item2f142d02df:g:kYQAAOSw57xaaLuW
  19. Can you email me a picture please Pete?
  20. You're welcome. The green residue could be safely removed from the silver with a little acetone. The pennies aren't worth much in that condition although it is still worth checking for varieties. For example, if the I in BRITT of the 1911 penny points directly to a border tooth then it'd be worth somewhere around £40.
