  1. It looks genuine to me, an off-centre strike I think.
  2. There's a reason for that. Just spend it.
  3. If you post it here Guest, you should get your answer.
  4. I don't think it's a button Dave, I can see a bust on the second picture and I'm sure I've seen something like this before somewhere.
  5. I really like that, although I do find the lion's face a bit disconcerting. Not very leonine, is it?
  6. I first encountered it here (on my birthday, as it happens): I guess it looks something like this: 1. Acceptable 2. Not acceptable Sorry.
  7. It's probably not ignorance, since I told them.
  8. I don't really get all this, if I'm honest. I can cope with F, VF, EF & UNC. How can something be nFDC, aFDC or one of the 6 different levels of FDC? How can MS70 be CGS 97, or 3 points higher at 100? I've given up and adopted Rob's two-point grading system: acceptable or not.
  9. 220 years old. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1797-Cart-wheel-Penny-Coin-Antique-Old-Copper-King-George-III-Royal-Mint-London/312080411819?hash=item48a9712cab:g:NgoAAOSweRhanEmO
  10. I don't suppose the obverse lasted much longer either, judging by the Baldwins pictures.
  11. до свидания amanda1.
  12. Hi amanda1, welcome to the forum. Can I assume that since this is your first post, you are in some way connected with the company selling the above microscope and looking to boost sales? It looks very much like the one I have, which is a generic model available from a number of different manufacturers at less than half the cost of the one you are advertising. On top of that, I would be unable to recommend it to someone looking to purchase one. It is adequate, but that's about it. I'm sure there must be much better models out there. Please accept my apologies if I have misinterpreted your post.
  13. How much was the torch? I need a hedge trimmer...
  14. I seem to have replied to the pre-edited post.
  15. A die crack would appear raised Paddy, like the one at the base of the neck. PMD for me. Edit: Actually, it appears to run under the 2nd G so perhaps present before striking?
  16. It's nice mate. Hardly any scratches, especially the obverse.
  17. "This example is in nice condition with good details." https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GB-WILLIAM-IV-COPPER-PENNY-1831-NICE-GRADE-882-12/401502207434?hash=item5d7b657dca:g:lagAAOSwcuZaZPIk
  18. Think you're probable right Paddy, now I've had another look.
  19. http://aboutfarthings.co.uk/catalogue/uk-farthings/victoria-1838-1901/victoria-bun-head-1860-1895/1876-farthing/ To me it looks like Ce.
  20. Looks cleaned but good apart from that? Although what do I know?
  21. Link please. I don't see any sales on 12/12.
  22. Well I wouldn't say one glance, but I'll get there!
