  1. Things are working now, one issue is that the upgrade seems to have removed all of the posts from the activity feed, all bar the 'messages' that others have done to each other that are viewable by all, and the notifications. Not a problem I suppose for now, as long as future ones start to update. I'll check after this post.
  2. I think I know the fix now, I've PM'ed Chris.
  3. Error EX1146 by any chance?
  4. Getting the same thing here Ian. I reported it last night to Chris to see if he can help because I have no idea what's causing it. You can go through the forum section to look at the threads still, just the activity and unread content sections aren't working.
  5. Wow I didn't realise that you found the Freeman 192a in change! What a find..
  6. Like that one David. Wouldn't mind one of those in the collection too. I have a 1963 with a very faint 6 but nothing compared to this!
  7. I think the link/catalogue is out early next week. Rest assured, it's an extremely comprehensive and well attributed collection, another one that some of us will have to pick and choose about which rarities we can afford and which we can let go! At least by the sounds of it it's not a put a highest bid down and hope you win, easier to manage what you'll end up paying.
  8. Not sure if it's online bidding or not, I've never bought from Colin Cooke except directly. Pete can help answer that though I'm sure.
  9. It's just a expansive collection of pennies, when auctions have a big sale for a collection owned by an individual they normally name it for posterity or future attribution. Normally the collector's name. I have a few pennies from the Dr. Findlow collection, it helps refer back for the history of a coin.
  10. Go to Browse > Forum and it's near the bottom. I'd take a screenshot but I'm on my phone
  11. Do you have a picture Rob? Perhaps this is why the open 3 is considered as more of a variety, as the font changed.
  12. Date widths are for the truly dedicated completionists, I personally don't get much excitement from them. Like you say, for the Victorian pennies there are many, many date widths for many, many years.. High/low/wide digits, thin/thick digits, digits with/without/extended tails, open/closed/recut digits, the list goes on. I do subscribe to the already widely recognised examples like the open 3 but not much else - although I have some examples of different spacing dates, they're not part of my main collection.
  13. Probably why then, do you know the lot no.?
  14. Likewise, he who dares I suppose. I've not had as much luck as you but I've only been at it a few years. I suspect more and more people are out looking nowadays as well, things that I do spot normally jump in price towards the end as the variety is spotted by a few. Probably by most of you lot on here
  15. Not the first time that seller has done that either, quite annoying. Fair enough if there are no bids but once people are bidding on it then it seems quite unfair to pull it for an offer.
  16. £200 for a VG example in the last LCA auction, I think you did really well. Would like to know the interest in this one, I haven't seen an exmaple in any major collections including Alderly, Workman, Accumulator's, Richard's. I assume the one from March was in the Elstree collection?
  17. I was talking about you haha, because you said well spotted I thought maybe I was reading the post wrong.
  18. I don't think it's ONF, just a dirty/stained bottom leg, similar stains to the left side of the O in ONE and the right side of the P in PENNY. Were you saying it's a ONF David or just that it looks like one?
  19. Yes anything penny related, this thread is a good place to start. If it's a penny purchase that you're particularly proud of, put up a post in here. Otherwise you have regular threads like "Coin acquisition of the week" or you can always just start your own one, no problem.
  20. He's taking us for a ride!
  21. Guy, if you have it could you send me the penny list with the photos too? Saves searching each UIN. Also, I gave Jon my login details for the CGS site so he should have access now.
  22. Welcome to the forum DrP, it seems everyone must've been at the pub when you first posted, don't be disheartened by the lack of responses They'll be along soon enough. I don't know too much about collecting maundy, although a set of my birth year is certainly on the list. I'm not too sure why people would separate the sets but I suppose needs must and it's got to happen to some of them. Well done on picking up the 2 pence for a fiver though, not too shabby at all.
