Kind of thinking this tread and post,in 1943 copper usage in US drop upto a point to the creation of steal cent, but on freeman they still produce bronze coins in the 1940 in GB but different in composition for some metal came from asia, Im just wondering or speculating how did GB gets its copper supply during the war for most of the mainland europe is under the nazis and on the other side US is in short supply,it is possible that other date of copper and bronze are melted but not recorded there is a junk shop or scrap yard on that time to melt those bronze and beside copper is needed for war as bullets and others. It might be possible that thier is very few of them left and the nicer ones left are those coins that the collectors collect and kept before and after the first and second world war.and the bulk that comes out in the market is the hoard of others but other dates and denomination is already melted. I cant see the flow how GB produce a bronze coin. that US on the far side atlantic and wide land north and south america to mine came in short supply, and GB cant access mainland europe where GB gets its copper for the 1940s and go at war at the same time.

Error I would love to own.

Thanks I think cud is different from blob or filled die for cud is on the side and on the edge or rim of the coin and I dont know how or what made it, I think is the process for making the coin and the new technology that the mint of the world is using now the other error in the past may not be the same as the error from the present or the rate of error is minimal thats for me. And variety in the US they are variety about DOUBLE DIE dint known a book in GB and ireland who have this kind of book, the nearest comparison is the hard metal of copper from late 1860 downward that needed to be strike twice an imprint, thats in Freeman I dont know but its almost if not a double strike itself,Well thier is still several millions of coins not use in circulation from 1970 downward and the currency they are using now they can encounter some error on how often that is still in the process.happy hunting to all. -
Picture well help a lot.for the expert.

Thanks hussulo. I always check my change both notes and coins well the currency here is euro while in GB is pound and the thing is there are books for notes and coins in GB for error and variety, but in euro some in different language not in english. Very common is blob, found some other minor error.but on variety a dead end for ireland one obverse and one reverse no mintmark either. First thing I check if it is rotated found some but not 90 or 180 degrees.then if there is a filled die on both side then the edge if it is wrong flan.I surf site in the past who have picture on it to compare, and also have to know the normal one from the error. For me it is nice to see different coin from normal in circulation for the time before it arrived to me.for someone maybe noticed it but didnt bother or didnt notice at all. -

Well the error is been there and out, about the authentication on coins that is selling on ebay and sold in the past by other dealers I dont know how to regognize them, the expert can. There are many world errors in mikes site worth thousands of dollar while GB error raw are not that expensive. In the past Im looking for error in ciculation but now I found out that major error and expensive is very remote to find one in circulation for I may think that major error is for those people who have an interest in getting them or collecting them. + -
Is there any dealers in UK that others can order? Also about cooke book on bronzed and copper. and any dealer still selling peck book.

OK SCOTT About the merger of GB to FRANCE what is this story. -
Yes. definitely Fidei Defensor: Defender of the Faith. Fidelis defensor would be Faithful Defender. G Is this Inscription was inscripted in a coin or a coin commemerating the UNION of Scotland and England that its meaning is not only for trade or economy or politics and power but more deeper meaning that was very beneficial to both nations and still applicable in this days,That should not be forgoten and remembered most of the times and can someone post a picture of that coin and the new coin that they will going to release a 2 pound coin commomerating that historic event that they inscription may last till end of our time.

Is GB planning to join the EU currency?
josie replied to josie's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Thank you scott. What do you mean by continental treat I watched the news that GB is merging with Frace what is the story in 1950's that they are planning now. About EU even Russia is already a strong country I think it is also included in the list to join EU if Im not mistaken and if Russia join this will put him in strong position against other nation it is not EU for me it is EURASIA. -
Only variety in ireland I know is chickless 1942 and 1968 and a mule of 1961. Those someone know any book? Seen some coins slightly rotated a minor error Seen some coin like a mechanical doubling but dont know if thier is a double die exist in ireland coin before it became Euro.

Is GB planning to join the EU currency?
josie replied to josie's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Just thingking that EU is expanding and dont know where it will stop most probaly in border in russia that other route may be taken that the link is GB and its CN well that is the question to both countries but I think it is more better than taking a route to middle east for now.for me that there is a war on trade or economy.between russia, america,EU and Asia For me I see EU is a union of country for trading, but without the particpation of Canada and Australia the next inline will be middle east and thier is much more heavier problem, for turkey is already exceed the boundary of Europe for it has a part of minor Asia if Turkey join in the future. just thinking if this shortcut may apply and beneficial. -
Is GB planning to join the EU currency?
josie replied to josie's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Chris is right they have thier independece and thier currency is not same a GB but they are not a republic and still member of CN. In the past the union of scotland from england stengthen the GB both trade and political that is beneficial, is this process can be applied to CANADA AND AUSTRALIA and othe countries have the reverse of queens image.to also stengthen the position of GB when it join the EU for it will became larger, and no tariff is already in place in CN members and for me may soon affect the trade of GB from CN member.for the GB stock is somewhat bought by EU company and the US. And if it will push through other countries like Japan,China, and India will join for Australia is near to them that this scenario expand the trade of EU that Russia may join not they dont want to but they have because of the size that EU will accumulate, and for me the one that I observe the bigger the country in EU the better is your position.and all be in one coin and even surpass all the empire and conqueror in terms of number of people in size of the Union and trade.
