  1. Indeed. Buy your 20th Century BU Farthings from Chris Perkins in future - the best guy in town! plug
  2. I swim every week, I've entered some competitions too. I play Tennis regularly and I've got quite far in some tournaments I entered. Besides that I too like computers plus debating, going out with friends, going to see films etc. I'm an avid reader and I've switched to lots of non-fiction at the minute. My favourite book btw is 1984 by George Orwell...genius. Yep thats about it.
  3. Me too. I bought a Napoleon III 5F (God knows why), mainly just for its elegance but when I received it, to my dismay it was polished.
  4. Wow 30,000 a month! I didn't think it was anywhere near that figure! And theres only about 10 regulars on the forums
  5. Would many people list on it? IMHO I'm sure they would prefer to list on a site that admittedly gets more hits (Ebay).
  6. What a coincidence. Tell me, have you ever taken all the trays out at once? I did it when I first got it and was dismayed to find that the interior was not varnished all the way through. However, I still love it but only wish I could afford the Coronet
  7. Here are some pics of my Peter Nichols cabinet. I just got a new digital camera and needed something to photograph!
  8. Terribly sorry, Chris. I only go on the Politics message board on the website that "informs you about legal mushroom induced highs". I have looked on the other sections but it's mostly rubbish if you look close enough. Anyhoo, sorry for the inconvenience
  9. Mine would be: www. [ASK OLI] .com www. [ASK OLI] .com www. 10. Not my area I'm afraid Chris, I focus on one area instead of lots of them.
  11. Sorry for the mistake, I was so taken aback by the price and number of bids!
  12. There's an old thread somewherearound here where we had the debate on the new 2004 coins. I don't think anybody was enthusiastic about them at all!
  13. Reverse of above coin:
  14. There a fabulous specimen on Ebay a la moment. At 19:30 is had 36 bids at £1445. Picture is attached:
  15. Hehehe i was only kidding
  16. Well two weeks ago I went down with my debating society teacher and three team-mates to take part in the E.S.U (English Speaking Union) debating competition. We had two teams, Clitheroe Royal Grammar School A&B The first debate was "This House would disband NATO" and me and my team-mate got put in 2nd Opposition (consult diagram). It was a close match and we were against Derby Grammar school. Fortunately, however, we won. The second debate was "This House would ban Animal Testing" and we were put in 1st Proposition, the easiest of the lot. We romped home on that one against this revolting public school team who wore ghastly waistcoats. In the rules for this competition, it stated that electronic devices were not to be used at all in the competition. Halfway through my teamate's speech, a girl was tapping away on her mobile phone. I was angry at this and glared at her, but to no avail. SO, I plucked up the courage and made a Point of Order (when someone is breaking the rules/behaving crudely) to the Chairman and declared her a cheater. The Point was upheld and they were disqualified (I'm so evil). By this time, our team was the highest-ranked out of all of them. The third debate, which was the quarter-finals one was "This House would lower the age of Voting to 14". Unfortunately, we got put in 2nd Opposition AGAIN. We came second in that one but had enough points to advance to the semis. The semi-final dwbate was "This house would require girls under 16 to gain parental consent before having an abortion". Amazingly, we were in 2nd Opposition again. This time however, we lost. BUT, by getting through to the semi-finals, we secured our team a place in the next round, which is to be held at Oxford University in April.
  17. Damn you william, I was the youngest!
  18. That little bit at the bottom of the page is misleading. I am in fact celebrating a birthday today, my cousin's. I suggest you change it to no members are celebrating their birthday today. I am a nitpicker
  19. Mrs. Gallop a.k.a upset, let me try to explain. The reason Chris replied so harshly to your post is because many people come here and post a query, never to follow it up; the vast majority never return. This wastes Chris' and all the other members' time replying to them when nobody comes back to see the results.
  20. *foams at mouth*
  21. Yeah, I don't venture outside British stuff.
  22. 1/8 d is one-eighth of a British Penny however these were not minted in England. It is a half-farthing I think, one that was only used in the colonies. I could be completely wrong but I'm sure someone will correct me soon if I am!
  23. I would imagine he'd make any spec. as he does huge ones for the British Museum. His site is the aptly-named www.coincabinets.com
