    I haven't got one but I was contemplating buying one. At first, I didn't know the difference between bullion ones and normal ones but then after emailing the Mint, they told me that normal sovereigns are struck three, maybe four times to give a better finish. Maybe you are comparing a bullion to a normal one and noticing the weakness of the bullion strike compared to the normal one?

    Isn't it! Kudos to you for going in - I was forced the first time but now I love it! Some of the clientele are bizarre but I suppose that is one of the draws! I've never actually noticed D.C's coin shop - is it close?

    I've looked, but the multitude of different numbers confused me so I left. Our F VF EF UNC is far better. I know! They all sing the praises for slabbing but I don't get what the big deal is; it's a coin in a holder. I've never seen anyone in Britain with slabbed coins at any rate.
