  1. I doubt he's going to like the fact he has it down as a HC and maybe himself has paid out HC cash, i would affer him 125 euros but i don't think he'll take such a steep drop in price unfortunately.
  2. I was going by what the seller said ragarding HC coin, i met this guy at the Munich coin fair and noticed he had this, so took his card as he doesn't have a website. He has a price sticker on the other side of it so you'll see what he's wanting, i certainly won't be paying that price, so we'll see what he says, anyhoo, here's the OBV
  3. Can anyone give me a grade on this, not sure about hammered stuff. Thanks.
  4. Its getting a little scary out there gents
  5. 4 grand is quite unrealistic even if confirmed as an without H
  6. And the last, this isn't my coin, it was sent to me by someone.
  7. For the more knowledgable of us. Your opinions please. Pix left in hi res. Its not the best looking coin either
  8. Just hazzarding a guess here, but a plane crash at say 200mph coupled with the length of time in the ground, force of impact etc, may account for problematic looking 1920s silver
  9. Hmmmmm the U and I are overstruck, ones undernearh sit on the line
  10. I believe doubling is the result of recut dies Just enlarged your QUI Picture through the iPhone Benny and the U and I have been overdtruck, there is 2 serifs quarter way down the U As though there is a emailer U undernearh and Same goes for the I, There's a Serie there to. Perhaps it was the Large garter type, or perhaps the large garter type was just smaller lettering? Take a look, There's definately serifs there
  11. Just had confirmation from chris that the coin is genuine happy bloody days
  12. Vidi Verdi Vici
  13. The signature and the colon after GRA are different, your signature seems to be nearly on the neck whereas mine is lower I think the difference between the A of GRA and the colon dot is that your coin has lost the tip of the serif making the gap appear wider. What we need is someone in the know to come along and point out the differences. I do hope your coin turns out to be genuine all the same. I think the serif Gary is minimal in relation to how near your colon is to the A, even if the serif on mine was there it still would seem further. What about the signature? Yours seems higher, nearer the bust compared to mine. This is a good and useful thread for anyone considering buying a 1905 HC
  14. Nemo me impune lacessit
  15. The signature and the colon after GRA are different, your signature seems to be nearly on the neck whereas mine is lower
  16. Sorry forgot to add the details, I was too caught up in adding the photos. Diameter and weight are spot on, finesse is down at 90% silver. Does it ring?
  17. Yes, it was becoming a bit of a lynch mob. I don't see it being a lynch mob Sion, as i keep saying, if you had purchased a coin from said ebay seller and paid way over the odds i think attitudes would have changed. So i'll say no more on the forum about it
  18. Your colon after GRA looks as though it's nearly touching the A, whereas mine is quite clearly spaced, might be nothing, and also the T in SOIT looks slightly smaller than mine, apart from that You never mentioned the weight or dia of yours, also does it ring? The one i have rings like a church bell on a Sunday
  19. Being the proud owner of a fake of which I can't find a difference I would be very interesting to know what attributes Chris uses to authenticate it You'd have to ask Chris that Gary, i've no idea. What is your weight/dia etc? How did you know did you know yours was fake? Maybe upload a picture so it can be used as information for others.
  20. What did it go for? 85 euros
  21. Already have a buyer Huss, just waiting on the word from Chris
  22. To late.............gone
  23. Thanks Rob, is it a decent grade, am no use with hammered, it looks decent, but could be any grade to me. Oh more importantly, what sort of price would i be looking at paying for it, not wanting to pay over the odds either. I'm a Scotsman lol
  24. State of preservation combined with length of the reign boosts prices. Why are the 1854 victoria silver coins rarer considering she was on the throne for 60 odd years? You could ask yourself the same question regarding Edward VIII coins, why are all 5 figures and above consodering he was on the throne 8 months.
