  2. Another token site, from Debbie http://museumvictoria.com.au/collections/items/71616/surcharged-token-1-penny-british-1797-stamped-lloyd-s-weekly-newspaper-3d-post-free-london-great-britain-circa-1855
  3. Jesus, someone's having a laugh Rob, There is no picture with it, but there is a 1893/2 for sale at: Boulborn Collections LTD Jan issue of Coin News, page 34 Cost 1,995 Pounds Is that a fair price? He would probably send you a close up pic, if he thought your were interested in the coin!
  4. Lmfao, the P&P was $37 and the coin $27 geezus
  5. Thanks Gary, that's wonderfully inconclusive as it quotes rates of both 5 & 20% without differentiating which should be which. Little wonder there is so much confusion. I had assumed that with Spink et al charging 5% for years that was the rate, but clearly it depends on which line is used from the list. So folks, if you get charged 20% VAT, refer customs to commodity code 9705 00 00 20 and then 03001 and point out this is what all the auction houses use and have done so for at least 10 years or whenever the rate was enacted. As it refers to gold and silver coins, there is a danger that copper/bronze/tin etc could be subject to 20% import VAT. Perhaps a call to HMRC Tariff Classification Service Enquiry Line 01702 366 077 for clarification is in order. I got passed around a bit but the concensus was 5% Have a read here. 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 11.3. And if you can't sleep there plenty more. http://customs.hmrc....ment#P452_59689 I've passed the link and relevant sections onto my Brother-in-law and see if he can make any sense from it. Will update when i hear something(Sections 4.3 and 4.4 seem relevant also)
  6. Which has again ended
  7. The next time a fake appears on eBay, one of us should put in a large bid to secure the item and a few others should report the item as fake. eBay will take no action and allow the buyer to become the proud owner of a worthless item. We could then sue eBay having incontrovertible proof that eBay allowed a fake to be sold. It seems that litigation and bad publicity are the only things eBay listen to. Whoever it was would have to have VERY deep pockets in case it went pete tong and got ruled against. When you have a cast iron case, they would settle out of court. It won't start until the 20th Feb, so just wait a little before buying a fake
  8. Oooooooh i can forsee a few less coins this year Tom, in the pocket and the cabinet;)

O, just checked my email account and the hosts sell domains plus hosting for 0,99c a month, so i've secured www.classicbritishcoins.com after my good old mate Dave, I'm liking the irony of your choice. Lol, i was wondering when someone would spot it I've only seen the corrected signature. What did the typo say - "cons" instead of "coins" perchance? www.classicbritishporn.com We only do German porn here, i'm the one with the big dodgy tash and curly hair and hairy chest

Its something i'm definately thinking about, but not as anything for selling, probably on the similar lines what accumulator has done then perhaps sometime in the future eventually start selling. I realise it can be time consuming, but right now i don't think i have the nerve to sit here and plug away at a site, i spend enough time on the internet searching coins that if i spent even more time sorting a website that their might be a divorce on the cards (actually now i'm thinking about it) lol I have most of my pictures so far apart from the Pennies after my USB stick went tits up, i recovered most of it apart from the Penny pictures and will get around to redoing these shortly. So i guess design and style is what i need to work out, saying that though, i suppose a website would also safeguard the pictures i already have if the stick ever went tits up. So just to confirm, i'd need a domain name first of all (whats the cost of these and where do i i register one)? Then a webhost.
  19. But its 3/2? Yes. I have a spare 20 quid
  20. But its 3/2?
  21. More than likely Peter, money goes to money as they say
  22. Fair Game for tax yes
  23. Gold is tax free only in the EU and on coins from 1800 onwards
  24. Ask John Stephenson, i think he has one
  25. Nice, just wonder what they're going to do with coins that are not marked as COPY, IE: the fakes made to look like the real thing, herein lies the problem and Ebays more than difficult way to report such items.
