  4. DNW????????? Hmmmmm that would mean it would be listed in their previous sales catalogues. Do we know which sale, or when bought allegedly?
  5. Just curious Paul, did the seller of your fake not say anything or ask why it was fake etc? Or did they just and the cash back?
  6. This must be a first, surely. An honest ebayer with a thirst for knowledge! Perhaps there is hope. Hello Edward. Perhaps we should also commend him for holding his hands up. These fakes without education are killing the hobby. Welcome to the forum Ed, glad to hear you have taken the coin down. If in doubt, check out forum member seuk, he has a website dedicated to the fakes of George III (anyone got the link to hand?) Here's hoping you get your money back from wherever it came from, it they don't, or argue the toss, send it to CGS for verification then ask them for the 30 quid fee on top of what you paid for it. Good luck and let us know how you get on with the return.
  7. Another Gothic Crown from China. Winning bidder had n**p in his name and has a 2695 feedback and left feedback for the seller on 21.05. Feedback was left in English and was happy with it. I'm just wondering if we'll see it pop up in the UK to be sold as genuine. Keep um peeled http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121337952501?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D121337952501%26_rdc%3D1

  10. I'm looking forward to the Irish book Chris, i think Spink has lost the plot not updating The Scotland/Irland and the Islands book last printed 11 years ago and well out of date, i think to would sell pretty well these days. So my obvious question is have you any thoughts on doing a Scottish one? I think the Scottish and Irish coins book is Long overdue for an overhaul
  11. Hmmmm i don't get charged a monthly fee, i have a quarterly charge of about €20, but since i was employed direct by my firm my Bank has called and asked if i wanted a free account (nice) of course, so have an appointment with them on the 14th July. As for Credit Card i also have a free one, its called advanzia, never had any problems or yearly Fees with it. You can check it out and apply under www.gebuhrenfrei.com
  12. I long gave up my UK account Chris, wish i had'nt now becaise its like trying to Break into fort Knox getting a UK account these days. I'm going over on the 25th June for a week, so i'm going to go into 1 or 2 Banks and ask about opening another account so i can start stashing some cash over there. I exchanged 962 euros and got only £700 back which pissed me off, just as well i sold a few coins a few weeks previously in the UK. I'll have a look at this fairfx link IF i can organise another UK account next week.

  22. ...plink, ting ting ting ting ting. Oh dear, it seems to have rolled under the table. Let me just.. hmm. No, there's now a filthy great scratch on it, sorry. Heads or tails? Hard to tell. The cat was sick on it and then it picked up a load of fluff. I'm not touching it with a bargepole. I think the 5 second rule might apply here, mind you that could help with the toning?fo Are you suggesting that this is a dud Peck, because I wouldn't have a Scooby! For the only example the seller recalls seeing on ebay how come there's another one on for £1000 less with a much better obverse.Probably because its the same sellers coin 271525734880 both are from brentwood_auctions
  23. And just another heads up. The seller (sharkster) who has been selling CGS grade coin over the past few weeks now has all his stuff at BINs, funny that, especially when i'd told him last week about one of his shill bidders, just saying
