  1. Breaking News, David Cameron is supporting the "Yes" camp
  2. They had a good bit of cash from me in August, but i'm very happy with the Liz groat i purchased and hopefully this one will be the same. I'm on holiday at the mo, so hopefully it will be there when i get home as i asked them to delay posting for 10 days
  3. Anyone with existing citizenship of the UK will presumably retain it. You can't just remove citizenship without due cause, such as being a terrorist etc, so grandfather rights would apply here. However, anyone trading in their passport for a Scottish one should not expect the same rights, though I suspect the same policy as that applies to Irish citizens would be the realistic position. Whether Scottish only passport holders would be allowed to serve with the UK's armed forces though is another matter. UK gov is actively limiting non EU imigration to apease the masses. Scotland would become a non EU country. You have the choice, are you Scottish or are you English. We allow dual nationality but how many scot would want a hated English passport. So the scots would be in the position of needing a visa or work permit to remain here. And that goes for any scots currently living in mainland Europe. How come suddenly that England is Britain, your statement of your either Scottish or English, tell me what happened to the other 2 countries in the Union? Your statement should have read, you're either Irish, Welsh or English should it not? Do you think England is the UK, this is the problem in a nutshell with you English types. Your other statement of throwing Scots out of England is another belter, what about throwing the immigrants out also, or those who are of any given Race other than English presboterian, you should go and invade a small country, you'd make a good dictator
  4. The English want the Scots to stay so much, anyone hear the signing at the England game? As for Milliband, the man is a complete bell end, he has the attitude of "its my ball so you can't play" some Scots care for the Union and as we're now seeing when push comes to shove, Westminster and quite a lot of the ENGLISH population don't want us in the Union anyway. There was a video yesterday where a guy went to an money exchange in London and asked to change £100 Scots pounds to English, they were going to give him £94, but why, our pound is also still Sterling is it not? Things like this stick in the throats of Scots, Englamd deem us natives and not worth shit, but now that the natives are restless and the shit is starting to hit the fan things are suddenly coming to the surface of what Englamd REALLY thinks of Scotland, and this is why attitudes in Scotland towards independence are changing and last night will help that along no end. We're now seeing the dislike directed towards us by Westminster with their small threats of this and that, since when did Milliband become PM and has a say if there should be soliders posted at the border? These idiots are the people that are leading you, i've never once heard derogatory remarks from Irish or Welsh citizens, so why are the English so pissed off? Oh and btw, the exchange rate from Scottish to English pounds was 1.062, a fricking joke, yet we take English notes but you won't take ours, and we're all equal, yeah right ok.
  5. The one last year had scratches from the forehead, whereas the 2 that were in this sale don't appear to have the same scratches
  6. I Totallly agree with your comment, i think the undecided are now seeing Westminster for what they really are, patronising parasites. Ed Milliband says as soon as the NO vote is in place he'll make sure Scotland has more powers, again, another patronising comment, he seems sure that it will be a NO. A friend of mine' daughter and her friends registered to vote through the College she's at and the Person who should have sent the enrolment to wherever did'nt do so in time and now they've lost their right to vote, i think more of this will be happening just shortly. I still think there will be some form of Dirty tricks and we won't get independence, but i'm getting nervous and excited now at the same time.
  7. After looking at it i don't think its the same coin
  8. I agree that Heritage might be the best place to sell NGC slabbed English coins, but i'll never buy from them, i could'nt afford to unless i had a Lotto win. There is sufficent material out there for normal collectors still, Americans are only interested in the top end grade coin in order to slab and sell at huge profits, let them run with it i say, i'll stick to the Coins i want too buy (unslabbed)
  9. You've ignored the fact that 99,999 of them are 1967 pennies, 1981 or 1965 crowns, or "ultra rare" washers... I haven't ignored or assumed anything, just observed that there are a record number of listings and hope it might mean some increased interest in the hobby ... or of course it might mean nothing at all ... in fact I suspect if I was to do some further analysis it would show that most of the increase is down to decimal listings, especially 50ps, and that the quality of the grades listed was at an all time low!It was just an observation, nothing more. I wasn't being entirely serious! Although you were correct
  10. Yeah. I shouöd of done I'm on holiday, so i don't care
  11. They did'nt make florins in 1821/22 or 1823. thought even Peck wouöd have picked up on that one The ebay one is PCGS graded, so not a strict british grade, also watch out for over inflated price by this seller, he's known to give his coins a helping hand, his helper is amoungst this bid sheet 161413312096
  12. I never bother with Heritage due to this very fact, overpriced due to grade given and would most probably not Hit the same grade in UK terms, so no thanks, i have to interest in over inflated coins
  13. Rob, I get the brain, eyes and heart bit. But in fairness to CGS I don't think they have told us we must like it. Isn't the whole idea to present a consistent numerical grading system. Now that's where I think it falls down in terms of eye appeal etc. For my liking it's just a little to clinical. I would like to know do others think it's working? In other words are three graders or whatever achieving the consistency they are aiming for? Mark I was being sarcastic about Wings. Even i got that. Wings surely must be more American marketing bullshit, just like TPGs. All überhyped by marketing and the American public as we know loves those telemarketers, you can't watch a 1 Hour TV programme without there being 25 commercials during said programme, its brainwashing in essence. (Our american friends on here are excluded) watch this Space, TPGs will soon be carrying adverts on their slabs for a small premium if there's a space they'll make an advert for it. We love ya WINGS
  14. Its a definate Upgrade on the Spink one. I have my eye on another Scottish hammered but i need to save some cash at the minute or else the boss is gonna kick my arse, i have marked 2 cheapish coins in the DNW sale i want, i'll go for 1 and hope she won't notice it if i win lol
  15. Rob, I get the brain, eyes and heart bit. But in fairness to CGS I don't think they have told us we must like it. Isn't the whole idea to present a consistent numerical grading system. In other words are three graders or whatever achieving the consistency they are aiming for? Mark Ahhhhh but, CGS are trying to dictate price. Look at their pop reports for a specific (anything really) high graded CGS coin, a Viccie for instance in say CGS 80+ grade, then check several auction house realised prices and a couple of book guide prices and see what you come back with
  16. Unfortunately i'll be sunning myself poolside in Turkey but will have my apple product with me and free wilan at the hotel. Just wanted to ask your take on lot 2145 a Dubious looking Northumberland Shilling in my opinion. Faint line from Georgies mouth plus Tops missing from OBV legend. (null)
  17. I've used them but would only use them again IF the coin in question was a Northumberland shilling or a Viccy Gothic crown. Their £30 90 day turnaround is their problem. I can send coins to NGC in America and get them back quicker. Last year they raised their prices amd also their turnaround, not a very good business model if its going to cost more for a lengthier wait. The other problem i have with them is their conflict of interest with Londoncoins, these 2 should'nt be hand in hand

  20. The copper Series was riddled with reworked dies amd i think this is what you may be describing. Check the legends also, you may see evidence of letters over letters
  21. Rilly? I thort it was speling not gramar. Or was it bothe. Memmory faddes with age... And so do your marbles
  22. Peck is the grammar Nazi of the predecimal forum
  23. You may have misunderstood, i said i'd be happy to send it to CGS and think i'd get a CGS 55 back, i never said i would though as i don't do slabs
  24. Ok the concensus seems to be GVF. So the story behind this coin is that it was part of the middridge hoard found in 1974 and sold through Glendinings in Dec 1977 lot 806 in which 7 coins were in this lot. 275 coins were found in the hoard and 44 were in similar grade as this one, the Rest were graded as Fine or less. This was graded as VF in 1977 which in my mind seems low and hence the reason i asked opinions, yet Spink sold it last year Sept 24-25th lot 271 and was graded again as VF which hammered at £200 with the same provenance, so i'm just wondering if Spink has obviously just took the grade from Glens and Applied it to their listing, as we can see, 37 years ago they were fairly strict with a grade, i'd even happigste send this to CGS and think i'd get a 55 grade back IMO
  25. Oh, well, you might find this amusing then!lf.jpgLol, MS63???? I have 1 or 2 hammered that I also think would be graded similar by both NGC and PCGS
