  1. why do the mint want our money... they make the stuff O.O
  2. i only have those plastic coin holders for the decent stuff, i try and keep lustred copper out as i worry about reactions and such. they are ideal for my lower budget until i can get some trays or cabinet. but storing farthings and US cents will be hard as i have a fair few of those as for toning
  3. probably in piggy banks, tins etc I find a fair chunk of 90's stuff in EF, even found a 1983 pound with full lustre a few years ago
  4. yes, and it was enlarged not shrunk, but yea all 92 issues should have large head, dunno why there are small head 20p's
  5. its a minor resize its the same portrait i have both types look at the neck if you cant see much differance
  6. small head and large head they changed the head size in 1992, small head was 85-91 and is scarcer
  7. fairly low mintage yea, and therer were 2 types
  8. dang, i want that 50p so bad interestingly the only other part of the set is the old design 20p, i have only ever seen one, i have 2 each of the 2 and 10p's and about 4 or 5 of the £1

    1926 Penny

some places still have those old machines complete with the pennies to run them. just have to find them
  10. something probably got on the dye, quite cool though
  11. well there are some listed variants with 1 over 1's etc
  12. i'll sell every 20p i have with no date on heads for 21p.... except my 1992's and my 2008 old design
  13. all 5p's had milled edges
  14. another fake 20p, doesnt look right, obverse legend is too thin, and the strange grey colour. http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=969159
  15. 1992 20p. there were two types only 31,205,000 minted (thats not many if you look at other years) in total and there were two types... the small head (1985-91) head and the large head (93-97) the small head is rarer (i wonder if thats a mule?)
  16. is it this type? currently? not much as its pretty much unknown, one to perhaps keep away safe for the future... 1992 is a great date for 20ps too
  17. another one that is terrible http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=969054
  18. seen some UNC stuff in the post office a few weeks ago.. but anything "new" recieved has been 2008.... i'll keep an eye out
  19. ahh 10-12 years ago, thats when i bought my first pieces, some i am very pleased with *cough 1858 farthing* cough i found the card the dealer had with it (description and price) i was unware then about the fact it was small date lol noticed the bits i bought then and now, i got some nice pieces back then for about a fiver
  20. i have a big bucket of new pence 2ps... time to make some money lol
  21. wth? rare 2 p new pence 1971... 2 bids lol link
  22. nah, but in a way it does put this into perspective, i have seen one in EF for sale at £65 lol so in some ways its around and about the same of the proper value.
  23. wow only 200k? thats a very nice find then, thanks for that information
  24. i'm basing it more on future value rather then current, most people spend these so they won't check for rarity and as a result probably not, but in the future...
  25. from a recent bulk buy 1939 southern rhodesia 6D, seen a similar one in a slightly better state (only slightly as the only differance is mine has discolouration) on a site for £65, wondering if thats just an over ambitious person or whether it is worth that 1/2 cent from straits settlement 1916, need a value both i would love a minting figure for
