picked up a couple today \o/, from what i have read these were specials sold by the mint, yet they popping up in circulation? any ideas on these because i can find nothing on circulation pieces of these.

you have some US cents? got any wheaties? yea they hard to get rid of, try selling them at a sale or something, get people interested in the hobby.

i dont mean it like that, i was saying americans know nothing of our system of varietys. i have used american sites for my american pieces, its just rediculous wading through 50-60 variatys of one cent because of small die errors.

freeman is british though i thought? americans know nothing, they call simple die errors varietys on thier coins..

all mine are too worn from that date, its in the period of not rare enough to warrant the price area for me. looks like someone broke here nose

i have that £2 coin, the first one is in circulation, but minting figures dotn exist

not the rarest though, i havn't seen a 1988 £1 for getting on for 5 years, and thats not even the rarest pound coin

i dont think it can be underwight if it came from the bank, they weigh the bags there, it would have come up.

i have a 1975 5p thats about as thick as 19th century fair grade shillings, cant explain that one myself, but.

no value wouldn't change, but the selling price would be lower, as people pay more for slabbed stuff

i dont, my dealer uses books to get the minting figues, so if its listed as scarce/rare then it is, unless the book doesnt list the veriaty of course then you can get lucky.

never knew there were 1948 coins from germany. if there are anything earlier in there then yes it is wise to look up the letters.

heh slabs, those are way out of my league, there are probably a few coins i would slab from my collection tbh but its not worth the hassle... they arn't worth the extra expense ahh yes SGS... i have read the same things. i dont have slabbed but i have a couple of nice american indian head cents these 2 are my best ones... cost me what £3 each? i cant remember it wasn't a lot.. the 76 is a key date and the 82 is high grade i have a nice collection of wheaties, these are a bit harder toget.

nah i found a 1987 20p and a 1987 quid recently in VF+ but yea quids are appauling for wear
