  1. Peter

    Afternoon!

It is a slippery slope. But WELCOME. 800 coins in a tin sounds like something I shifted at a car boot a couple of years ago. May I say never again.
  2. If they are rubbish of which they appear sell as a job lot. A circulated 1950 half crown is worth diddly. Or give to a charity.
  3. I just use a cotton bud.
  4. Ebay finds its level. You will get spot plus a bit...less fees and paypal. Send them tracked...A lesson I have learnt for anything over £15.Scum bags.
  5. Try the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge.I am aware they have an extensive library of auction catalogues I'm planning a visit once I can establish what they have and what I want to see. Mrs Peter and the girls will happily spend a day shopping before I buy dinner. Fitzwilliam site is not the easiest to navigate but a phone call has worked wonders. They have some smart people working there.
  6. When I was working at Waterloo by train back to Suffolk left from Liverpool Street. A couple of other lads used Liverpool Street which is a stones throw from Brick Lane and Green Street. You had to take your own beer into the many Curry houses. We ate there at least twice a week for about £5 per head Smashing grub.I also had a Pakistani clerk and his mother often sent me a container of curry for my lunch.
  7. Rob Heed Pecks advice. Proof sets drop like a stone. I have several sets and never paid more than £8.
  8. It looks like it is a brass copy. A half guinea will be 21mm and weigh 4.1g. Thus the value will be minimal.
  9. Rotographic (the owner of this site Chris Perkins) Is working on his latest decimal coin book. I keep all the top quality coins that come my way.
  10. Worth keeping the CGS ticket. The coin would easily hit MS grades in the US.
  11. Decent coins Dave.
  12. I've gone for 10 bob notes and £1 notes. Replacement notes are the collectable ones. I started out with an unopened wage envelope from 1940 it had 2 10 shilling notes. I also have an album of cheques.....sad bugger I am.
  13. Ahhh Paulus I'm just going to make a sandwich.....would you like one?
  14. I'm sure Robs box is always full....yer know the Northern boys
  15. Sound If you ever want a boring evening I am about 25 miles away.
  16. Ah now I know I don't collect 1d's. I will stick to farthings.
  17. Why not experiment? Good move Gary hope it is Suffolk n good. I'm still considering buying raw,PCGS slab and onto Heritage. It seems a way to mug the punters.
  18. Brandon You are whetting my collecting eye.
  19. Lets face facts that it is good as you are going to get for I book covering the era it does.
  20. Can't resist bargain hunt Yep I agree with Rob.
  21. The 1 in a million has been revised also. I did ask a question.
