  1. She has been forgiven after allowing me to buy several varieties and cooking a mean chicken pie slurped down with a good malt and lemon tart and some double cream. She wants to keep me off the market Why is red wine, stilton,a good steak, malt, decent caffine coffee, bacon sarnies with loads of English musturd/onions/mushrooms all meant to be bad for you? As long as I don't die during Eastenders she has promised never to drop them again
  2. Your wife is our secret assasin Don't get to attached to your todger, you may find it lying on the floor at some point.............Oh wait, you probably have after the red wine Dave she is like my favourite duvet. The finest goose feathers (and not from Argos).I really don't want to trade her in for a texting 20 year old....hang about She bought me my Peck (who else would do that?)
  3. Scottish lasses have never proved difficult. I married a half jock/paddy but educated at an English private school still together after 26 years....I couldn't release the beast on anyone else and I do believe the feeling is mutual.
  4. Thank god for Hadrians wall (and the English channel)
  5. The trouble is that Ebay turns over more coins than any dealer. The collector should look at dealers lists, visit coin fairs and learn the market. It really isn't difficult.
  6. There are sellers on Ebay who polish/dip coins but certain punters love them. Colin Cooke once told me he visted a son who had inherited his fathers 1/4d collection. Before Colin arrived the son had spruced them up a bit
  7. If I had that cash to spare, I would. That's one of the best obverses I've seen for it. Nevermind that the 18KN is very much commoner than the 19KN, it's still a beaut. I'd give it houseroom!! Now you're making me wish I'd gone higher. I've missed out on several coins that I'd really hoped to acquire in the last week and have that frustrating serial underbidder feeling! You could always go for this one only £700 Gorgeous! Those highlights being reflected back off the ... off the ... wait, I can't see, it's blinding me!! Come on Gents a brassoed good would grace your collection
  8. Trouble is people out there buy cars at £99 a week and use the money lenders that only charge 2500% apr.Tax the poor and undeducated, all non fishermen and anyone who doesn't like a Monte Christo or even know what one is
  9. I had a buyer who gave me a neg.I refunded her and guess what? no return. People like that make me glad that I will never stoop to their level.
  10. In one of the Sundays recently there was a complete Liz 11 crown collection(apart from the polished 1960)average price was pushing £10 INCLUDING CHURCHHILL.1977 crowns (they still appear everywhere & I only bought a quids worth...help I'm being overrun). I think I will nail varnish my silver proofs then drill them, put on soppy love messages and then bury them in a nearby Roman Fort site with a few 1754 "rare ebay" 1/4ds (oh I will chuck in a few 1853 raised ww).....nurse meds now please
  11. Awfull That is so false. Toning kits, gold mounters, polishers and dippers should be named and shamed. Its like a quality car with wide wheels added and an Essex boy exhaust.Have em shot and their parents sterilised.
  12. Agree, they moved in 67 I believe. There are collectors of errors (mainly in the US)where double dies even command high premiums. We have an error member on the forum(not a regular visitor but has some stunning early copper errors)Maybe someone can remember his name.
  13. Peter, it was impossible for the coin to move anywhere. What he's trying to do is say that its got huge cabinet friction and then tell me he wants a price reduction, but then tell me we can take it off the Shilling. When i replied to him telling him he was bullshitting because of the way it was packed (no cardboard was involved in the making of that parcel) and would have been an improbability for it to have anymore wear than it showed in the pictures he then suddenly became very very quiet, especially when i told him what he was obviously trying to achieve by bullshiting. He was immidiately blocked. Right behind you Dave, eBay as a seller can be a right royal pain in the arse and for the buyer Paulus
  14. Agree a price in future and send when funds are received. I'm sure your pictures were good enough. Try using the little sealable plastic bags and sellotape to make sure the coin can't move.I also add a dab of tape to secure it in the jiffy. Ask him to return the coin/coins and block him from future bidding. There are some nasty pieces of work out there but luckily most coin collectors and dealers play with a straight bat
  15. I received a premium bond yesterday and have just picked the winner in the Gold Cup at 8-1 and the 4'0 clock winner at 7-1(I only had 2 bets) Not much put on but a lucky dip will be purchased later :D
  16. As long as they are accuratley grading they aren't a bad buy.But at the higher end of pricing books. The below F 1/- are only worth melt (about £1.75 each) Your friend would be lucky to match these prices on Ebay and he has no fees to pay. If you could post a few pictures of the F+ coins it would help.
  17. I like the silver grey tone of the Lima. The 1757 looks like it may have been cleaned at some time.
  18. Hi the answers are no,no & nothing. There were over 48,000,000 minted in 1987 and they are not sought by collectors. The book price for an uncirculated one is 10p....but try and sell it for 10p and you will find it difficult. Sorry.
  19. People come and go.When I joined wayback in 2004 there were mainly youngsters at school or just starting Uni. I suppose study ,girls etc have got in the way of coins.
  20. Richard You can also negotiate. He had a buying price.Just get close to it
  21. I've got my grandfathers board and coins which date (1936-bun Vickie )
  22. Ivor Noble was in the year below me. Also Hugh Janus was always mentioned in the Rugby reports for the village team
  23. No one with a brain would buy that....OK there are plenty of Wayne Keres out there....BTW I have worked with P Urin and got close shagging a Tara Pawling. Just noticed on the World Champs there is a Gaylord Silly
  24. Ahhh it seems that the person with too many nice coins ommeter has cut in.You must instantly offer them FOC to other site members.
  25. I'm trying to muster interest from Mrs Peter for a pleasant romantic spring weekend in Harrogate in a few weeks time.
