  1. I buy a coin and if it comes with any such details, then I'll note them. I don't buy slabbed grades or names. But having provenance on coins going well back into the 1700s is an added bonus!
  2. Apologies, Richard. If it's any consolation I can often remember where I've bought something...
  3. I very rarely record where I've got a coin from. I will only record it if from an auction house or notable collector/dealer, the only other thing that comes into play is a findspot and whether it's published in the BNJ, the Numismatic Chronicle or, more likely, on the EMC.
  4. I'm not sure I see the resemblance.
  5. Ah, you've got Dave's problem too - the AyePhone.
  6. Is that a specifically Jewish sylloge...?
  7. One of my favourites is: "Which size shirt are you? My friend saw you buying a large, but I thought you were a medium."
  8. I've been laughing at the trending hashtag on Twitter tonight #AskDerekAcorah. Such gems include: "Seeing as you are an expert on the spirit world, can you tell me how much absinthe is in Tescos please." & "If a ghost looks wonky do you have to use a spirit level?"
  9. This is so confusing... 1248-50 but actually 20th century...
  10. That's great news! What sorts of coins have piqued your interest this time around?
  11. Unfortunately this is a very modern and poor quality replica. Sorry that this probably isn't the news you were hoping for Hayley.
  12. Looks to be Henry V if anything.
  13. Very rare Henry IV penny... Very rare alright! Not many lack that much detail on the obverse...
  14. Penny collector, but only hammered silver ones.
  15. The rare 'double beard' variety.
  16. Does anyone else think that this coin makes Charles look like he's got a wig on? Or perhaps a receding hairline?
  17. Well, there are viruses out there that target Macs, e.g. The Flashback Trojan, but I do agree that far more target PCs and, as you say, keep many techies in business.
  18. Precisely why I've built my own desktops over the years - it means I can have exactly what I want for less than a pre-built one.
  19. I use AVG and have never had this problem, I do know of other programs that really do hide such additions in small print and obscure Ts&Cs. Just be wary of any ticked or unticked boxes.
  20. Glad it now works! Nothing's wrong with it, but from the appearance it looked like Windows '97 or similar, so I began to think that the advice given wouldn't be relevant. I, personally, would stick with Windows 7.
  21. True, but that's rare. I got a cut half of Henry I for 50p in a bulk lot but unfortunately many lots nowadays are just exceptionally poor grade and common, e.g. this.
  22. Right, I didn't realise you were on a much earlier OS. It still makes me think you've got this set as your homepage. If you click on Tools at the top there should be an option (somewhere) to change your homepage.
  23. Press the Print Screen/PrtScn button on your keyboard. Open up a program such as Paint, paste and then Save As.
