  1. I used to browse coins on ebay and bid and buy occasionally - but - they have now blocked my ident and password saying I am a security risk. This I could accept if I had viruses but a scan with AntiVir and the "malicious program debugger" from Microsoft can find nothing! A long list of bugs was given by Microsoft, all clear. I wanted to appeal the blocking, but the only help i got from ebay was to be told to log on and go through the appeal procedure. You've guessed it! I can't log on because I'm blocked! Anyone else been in this position? and if so, what's the answere?
  2. Wow! Top class start! I'm envious!
  3. Sorry! I don't wear French Connection.
  4. Evolution? Backwards!
  5. Nah! Swallowed one once. Got it back later!
  6. Children! Children.! Decorum please! This is a serious achedemic site!
  7. I'm surprised you could attribute them to anything! Even a toy manufacturer couldn't make such a mess of it!
  8. Ah! But sooooo welcome at christmas dinner!
  9. I've noticed a gradual increase in the prices of Henry III, Edwards I, II, III lately. Don't know if that is general across all Hammered?
  10. My ancesters were Scots - but I've tried to hid that for years!
  11. I can't understand why you are encouraging him/her/it!
  12. Get some new glasses!
  13. I'd say Constantinople mint. You may be right with Valentinian though Gratian used the same reverse, as did Valens!
  14. Spot on Sylvester. Are you going to put the Royal Mint right?
  15. Henry III? Has anyone seen such poorly produced hammered as this?
  16. I can't be bothered with a website. Too much troub;e keeping it up to date, taking time away from coins! I just use Omnicoin for selected coins I may want to discuss.( courtesy of Coinpeople.com)
  17. I prefer German or Spanish. They make more sense!
  18. I have to add, buying a "lot" of coins - finding rubbish- but then three very interesting ones that will keep me researching for weeks!
  19. Culture ?
  20. Just what gives you the highest thrill in numismatics? Mine is finding a coin that has been incorrectly identified, even if I can't obtain it, and being able to investigate and allocate with certainty. It is, more often than not, among the hammered coins of the medieval times. It happens often enough to keep me happy!!
  21. I'm still uncomfortable with "Gay". 'A batchelor gay' was just happy not homosexual!
  22. Sorry about that! It has no bearing on the degrading of our society, as I see it. I sometimes think that more discipline in the home and school would have produced a more erudite generation.
  23. Thanks! kuhli, a lot clearer now that all you fellows have have tutored me! I needed that I realise my problems all come about because of my using Word to produce and store the record of all my coins. I'll have to think of an intermediate step in future.
  24. Makes you wonder why we bothered in 1939-45. I don't suppose Hitler would have allowed it to happen.
