  1. Earth last time i looked I had said 'the old British empire', not to mean that the British empire still exists, but to say that I would prefer to keep the 'British Empire' and not let it fade away into the Europian Union.
  2. Thanks chris, i will make a note of it
  3. Um, well, you could just tell me; i want to try and get all of the pennies from 1900 - 1970 proof in EF - BU condition, and all theese 'minor varieties' help me
  4. Yes, i do not see what Europe has to do with the good old British Empire...to me Britain is not, and will never be a part of Europe.
  5. Aren't there Pack references to the GV onward pennies then? Tip/question) For the 1913 penny you have got; '*1913 - Four Minor Varieties, all are fairly common'...I, as you know, collect pennies, and i have only just seen this variety listing; i do not know the four varieties, and it may be a good idea to put them all
  6. Mistake no.1) 1951 (non-proof) penny on page 23 of the pdf file says that it is worth £201230...if this is true then can i sell my BU one to you for that ammount Mistake no.2) As with 1905,08,37 and 44 for the penny section, 1921 also has a * next to it...where is the explination for this? Enquiery 1) why do you use Peck's reference up to the 1918H penny, and then change it to FMAN?
  7. Conservative mostly the same with Oli...and i would never vote labour if Tony Blair contionues like he is at the moment, i think that he is getting a bit too 'lovey-dovey' with George Bush and i think that he is becoming too powerful...
  8. Is that your 1839/43 or something like that william?
  9. are mine ok? (here) the 1875 farthing, the 1902 farthing, the 1938 penny (or a BU 1896 penny if it arrives in time ) and the 1901 penny
  10. ah, right, ok chris
  11. Chirs, isnt that telling the guests too much?
  12. it would depend on a) their grade, and 2) Their type (for the victorian pennies).
  13. and, colin only has a basic frontpage forum!
  14. I did not personally hear the GWB speach, but from what you said, chris, it really makes Mr.Bush sound like a complete idiot (probably why britain and america are allies ). But from what I have heard from other people, Mr.Reagan, Mrs.Thatcher and Mr.Gorbechev (sp?) were the strongest leaders in history; Reagan gained support from all states bar-one, Thatcher was one of the best leaders (especially for a woman ), not sure about Gorbechev but i am sure he was a good leader too.
  15. I sometimes use colin cooke's or coinpeople (i am new there)... and yes chris, your site is the best i have found for british talk
  16. I was not implying that "Ooh it's foreign muck", I just dont really like many foreign coins. There are some foreign coins that take my fancy; Ducats or Half Dolars sometimes look lovely, but unfortunately most foreign coins do not take my fancy, and your one was one of them for the following reasons: I do not like the hair that dangles from the back of napoleon's head onto the nape. The fact that it says Empereur on one side, and Empire on the other - too much enphisis towards napoleon. The way that the engraver's name (BARRE) falls into the main coin lettering (Napoleon III Empereur) - I like the engravers name to be directly under the effigy; like English coinage. The mintmark (A), if it is a mintmark, is also not where i like it, it stands out too much. ...sorry that i did not like your coin ...i like williams coin because: Victoria's protrait fits in with the edge of the coin. St. George and the Dragon design on the reverse seems to fit perfectly with both sides; not nessessarily in the centre of the coin, but it fits with the size. ... so
  17. sorry oli, i dont like foreign coins that much ...you got my vote william
  18. Oh, ok i just thought that it might be worth a little more
  19. ...what would the value of a 1892 penny with double-struck lettering on reverse (especially the 'N''s in 'ONE' and 'PENNY') in fine condition?
  20. Yes, it is sad that he is gone... May he rest in peace
  21. oh right, thats a good idea
