  1. Chris, do you want the commemorative Crowns and £5's of decimalisation in your book?
  2. Surely Gem UNC falls in place before ABU...isnt that just saying that GVF is better then EF?
  3. So, sylvester, you spend about £2 - £10 on bus and train whereas you could just spend about 10.2p per-mile in a car... ...very sensible
  4. Ah that's why the difference... We used to start at 8.55 for registration. 9.00-10.00 first lesson 10.00-11.00 second lesson 11.00-11.15 break 11.15-12.15 third lesson 12.15-12.55 lunch 12.55-1.00 afternoon registration 1.00-2.00 fourth lesson 2.00-3.00 fifth lesson We lost alot of time from lunch... college was different though... really scary. 9.00-10.30 first lesson (first half) 10.30-11.00 break 11.00-12.30 first lesson (second half) 12.30-1.30 lunch 1.30-3.30 second lesson It was nice going to Uni cos i reverted to 1 hour lessons again! (mostly although i did have a 2 hour one). Lucky git this is my timetable: Registration: 8:30 - 8:40 First lesson: 8:45 - 9:45 Second lesson: 9:50 - 10:50 Break: 10:55 - 11:10 Third lesson: 11:15 - 12:15 Fourth lesson: 12:15 - 1:15 Lunch: 1:15 - 2:15 Afternoon Registration: 2:20 - 2:40 Fith lesson: 2:45 - 3:45
  5. oh, that was a typo of mine...i meant to put George IV not V and that it was George V who gave India and SA back
  6. Unlucky ...I broke up at 1:00pm on Friday
  7. Why are they our (ex) colonial friends? Well, if you can remember, i think it was George V who gave America their 'freedom' from the British rule...as with India, South Africa, Canada, etc...
  8. Hmm...this is ridiculous...and to make things worse we cannot easily get a question to the mint seeing as the RM forum is down... If this is and will be the case for future gold coinage then does this mean that there is a chance that we could be diverted to using the American grading by the mint (PR-69, PR-60, etc...)?
  9. is that mentaly or physicly possible?!?!?
  10. And also it is basicly 'renewing' a piece of coin history...would you prefer an old real peice of 'untampered' coinage or a 'renewed' shiney and off-putting cleaned coin? ...i would cirtainly prefer an 'untampered' piece
  11. Bob, I think that the coins you have are copper Farthings. All of the 'Bronze' series (Farthings, Halfpennies and Pennies) used to be slightly bigger and made of copper rather than bronze, but this was changed in 1860 (i think that England did this because the French had changed their Copper's to Bronze's in 1852).
  12. wow , strange...from what shop may i ask?
  13. I currently store my coins in a WHSmith album, and my farthings (now that i have the capsuals (thanks chris)) look a bit out of place, so i will probably move on to trays and then a cabinet...
  14. I think that the predecimal forum should stay as the 'Predecimal forum', the 'Rotographic Forum' would not really sound as nice as 'Predecimal Froum' in my opinion... Also, the banner at the top of every page is annoying...maybe it would make the forum look nicer if it was only on the home page...
  15. i think that she meant 41mm
  16. 141mm ...4.1?...if so then it is a Twopence i think
  17. This could be one of two things. Either a penny or a twopence. If you give us the diameter, i could tell you which one it is. If it is a penny, it will be worth about £90, if it is a twopence it will be worth about £170. The condition is very good. i had said about the diameter william...and i dont think that it is in a brilliant condition, the edge are quite damaged
  18. it still may be unclear to determin what the 1797 is between Cartweel Penny and Twopence...i think that we will need the diametre's...
  19. I would, but im out of money ...besides, it will come along again, it is only R9
  20. Happy B'day sovereign...have a great day
  21. a nice 1935 farthing in BU?
  22. its nice ...i wonder who will get it...
  23. I'm afraid it's sold now William, I sold it yesterday. Thanks for the comments so far, I'll make ammendments to the master today. Awww, thats a shame... once again; sorry william...but it wasn't me this time
  24. spamming chris?!
  25. I wouldn't buy an Angel because i would not know where to store it within my collection...i would buy the farthings seeing as i am trying to collect them So it is not nesessarily the same thing Oli
