First of all, it is a coin from the reign of George V, however, I will need a bit more information, eg. size, which denomination it is (what the coin sayd on the front eg. half penny, penny, half crown, farthing etc....), and grade (condition).
I was not aware that there was so many varieties for modern coinage. Are there and varieties for decimal coinage apart from the obvious design changes?
Ok, here goes: 1. 1903 BU half penny. 2. 1909 BU half Penny. 3. 1910 BU half penny. 4. 1901 BU half penny. 5. 1932 BU half penny. 6. 1932 BU half penny. They are my only really special coins at the moment because I am building up a specialist half penny collection. My faviorite's are the gleaming Edward VII ones which are quite hard to get in BU. I will hopefully add some more half pennys to my growing collection at the London Coin fair.
To sum it all up: 1. It is an outstanding coin. 2. You have the ability to buy it if you want. 3. You may never be able to acquire a better specimin. 4. It may not 'fit in' to your present collection. 5. IT IS YOUR CHOICE AND YOURS ALONE.
It was Master JMD's "loss" wasn't it - or am I missing something here? Anyhoo ¡feliz cumpleaños! True, Master JMD did have a loss, however, I lost when I was outbid on an UNC 1902LT half penny.
Firstly I think the coin is definately genuine. It is in 'Fine' condition and I would advise you not to pay any more than £50 for it. It is a very nice coin and if you decide to bid, the best of luck to you!
I hope you get one as well HPJ. Are you really still in mourning from loosing that bid. Happy Birthday for tommorow by the way John I think I have just about got over that terrible loss. However, there will be other opportunities to acquire that rare coin. Thanks quys for the Happy b'day.
