  1. Ooooooooohhhhhhhh the mystery!
  2. What I was trying to say is that we have one of the most prefered currencies in the world which dates back centuries in terms of pounds and pence.
  3. That's right down my street. I once had the pleasure of owning an UNC 1860 half penny with lustre, it is a really nice coin. Where did you get the photo from? Is the coin for sale?
  4. When one comes up for auction on Ebay, I will tell you.
  5. I have not seen them either, is there a club of which we are not members?!
  6. Very funny Chris! I am talking about face furniture (to straighten teeth).
  7. Sorry to go off topic, but I am having my braces off today after one and a half years of aching and elastic bands!
  8. I once bought a BU 1897 penny for £18 at my local coin shop. Mind you it was about 5 years ago!
  9. I thought it was "ornamental trident", not ornate trident.
  10. JMD, you should really read posts carefully, I said IF YOU WAITED
  11. King: George V. Queen: Victoria.
  12. Oli's ok really, he just gets a bit cagy from time to time.
  13. I love your half penny, and it is ex. Dr. Nicholson! Well done.
  14. I can understand your reasons for having your coins "slabbed and graded" but I would be reluctant to have mine "slabbed and graded" because the whole feel of the nicely presented collection in a nice cabinet would be gone.
  15. I can understand your reasons for having your coins "slabbed and graded" but I would be reluctant to have mine "slabbed and graded" because the whole feel of the nicely presented collection in a nice cabinet would be gone.
  16. It is a very formidable collection you have there! I am helping research prices for Chris. I am mostly involved in half pennies but I help out as much as I can. I especially like your selection of half pennies, I collect 1900-1936 ones though.
  17. The article looks really good! Which photo's did you donate?
  18. So I should pay no more than £100 for one really. Thanks Sylvester, now I can set myself a limit.
  19. How much would you be prepared to pay for a copy of Peck (second edition) everyone? Also, could anyone who already has a copy tell me how much they paid for it because I need some sort of a price guide for the book.
  20. I am sorry then, in future, I will read previous posts before posting.
  21. Have I upset you Oli, what have I done?
  22. It may be a high price, but it is a rare book and it is a very important referance which is in high demand.
  23. The 1806 penny that you want being sold by Colin Cooke James is very over-priced. If you waited then you could probably pick up one for £100 less on Ebay.
  24. Early BU examples are rare however, they are obtainable if you look.
