  1. Feast your mince pies on pages 1-27: http://www.rotographic.co.uk/1-27.pdf I have corrected the mistakes previously mentioned and made a few selected additions/omisions. I've added a couple of pages, and the biggest addition was the Freeman numbers for all the bronze coins (except fractional farthings because they're not in Freeman). Thanks to DAS for lending me the Freeman catalogue. So apart from adding the odd picture and perhaps minimal revising, that's the copper/bronze section done and dusted. As ever, let me know your thoughts, and delete the older version which is now completely superceeded.
  2. I had an Anne 1713 Pattern farthing.....Sold it.
  3. Freeman says it's R17 (Probably 16-50 examples)
  4. I like: 'And we'll basque in the shadow of yesterdays Triumph' (Roger Waters, Pink Floyd. Shine on you Crazy Diamond. Wish you were here album 1975) It's a great line, and I have a little sticker of it on the back window of my Triumph TR7. Other motorists can basque in my shadow!
  5. You must be joking, have you seen that Russian girl? She's like Kornakova (spelling?) but more attractive and actually pretty good at tennis! I'd like Portugal to win the football, I'm not a sports fan, but it would be good for moral in Portugal if the home nation could win the whatsit.
  6. I don't know, have you got the latest version of the PDF viewer?
  7. The book would probably have got verdigris too, you know what old books and damp are like! Horse and carriage.
  8. I have a spare copy of Peck's 'English Copper, Tin and Bronze coins in the British Musuem 1558 - 1958'. It's the 2nd (and latest!) 1964 edition. I thought I would offer it here for a few days before putting it on eBay. Price £95 (+ £10 fully insured postage) email me: cp@predecimal.com
  9. Or perhaps Switzerlandia! (No, it's Helvetia, or I seem to remember an alternate spelling of 'Helvetica').
  10. Thanks up to now, I should be releasing another update soon with corrections made, Freeman numbers and a couple of extra pages.
  11. Houses are cheap up north aren't they, what is it? £10,000, £15,000??
  12. My client certainly has the required financial backing, and he wants to obtain at least 100 of them, with my help.
  13. You have to be very rich to persuade me to sell any 1934 Crowns that I might get! I have a customer that buys them all off me, I have supplied (or am in the process of supplying him) 9, and I believe he has about 30 altogether.
  14. Hardly anyone wins Wimbledon 2 or 3 times in a row, so even though Tim has never won (and isn't getting any younger), at least he's consistant! I take my hat off to the man, that's certainly more running around in the sun than I'd like to do.
  15. I think we're fine the way we are. We're not 'the other forums' and without copying them, I think we have a quite lively, different place anyway. We don't need news, you lot are always posting something different every five minutes. These things take time to build up, and as new regulars come on board the amount of variety will increase.
  16. I'm pleased to have added 'Coppers' to the Project CCGB2005 today.
  17. One from Spink, one from a dealer I can't remember who, and yet to be confirmed is another in a recent auction that I bid very high on.
  18. I'd be willing to try anything, If it would make Carol Smilie smile.
  19. Like I said to a policeman last week who looked in shock as my '72 Triumph 2000 started squirting a jet of steaming water 5 feet in front of the car: 'It's a small price to pay for style'. If I need to get somewhere far away I may be inclined to get a hire car for a few days.
  20. So it's like a Churchill Vinyl silk proof crown then?
  21. York? That's up North somewhere isn't it? If only I felt confident that my '72 Triumph 2000 could ever get that far.
  22. It was up for £550 was it? I can't remeber. I'd take £450 for it. Picture below sylvester.
  23. Yes I have the 1868 Cu Ni coin. I do have a chap nearby that has been umming and ahing about it for weeks, I think he may go for it and send it to Australia, but nothing is concrete yet.
  24. I don't think I get the medal unless I buy it, I get a silver medal in 25 years! Thanks,
  25. Well as many of you may of guessed, I was away last week, mainly to attend the wedding of my Uncle Peter (Mums brother) but I also slipped in a quick BBC 3 Counties radio phone in while I was there. I was on, inbetween the odd other subject for an hour and a half and I think it was certainly one of the best phone ins. The caller/email volume was pretty high and the questions were answered easily, and dare I say it, some were perhaps even slightly interesting. I also had the opportunity to put the listenership right about the 2p rumour after someone asked about it. Hopefully DJ John will send me a CD of the programme so I can then use up huge amounts of more bloody bandwidth sharing somewhere on the website as a feed/download. Other news: I was elected as a member of the British Numismatic Society. Ok, so that sounds impressive, but as far as I know, anyone who can read and write, isn't an axe murderer and has £33 per annum to spare can become a member. Although I did have to list the name of a referee (not a Swiss one!!) and I think the fact that I listed 2 existing members, one of which was formerly on the comitee probably helped somewhat. The BNS welcome new members, especially younger ones, so check out the link on the home page. More Other news: Just to show off, I have found another 3x 1934 Crowns to pass on to my 1934 Crown buyer. I should also be getting another 1936 soon, which is also a pretty rare one. And it's my birthday tuesday, I'll be 26, just in case anyone cares
