  1. You're certainly the prettiest female on here, so watch out for all these young men that frequent this place! (especially me )
  2. Hang on a moment, 2 points.... The 1953 Set is an official set (they had 9 coins and not the Crown) and I sell them for around £20 if there are no rips and minimal toning on the coins. Nevermind all the rest, is that actually a picture of you Sam? My avatar is really me too ;)
  3. Buggar, did you see that. Cooke got them at £510 at the last second, and I thought my £500 would be enough!! Grrrr
  4. No I think there are probably lots of dealers that have them. I would show you a picture Jmd, but as the Reverse is just like the normal 2p before 1981, and the Obverse is exactly like the 1971-84 2p I thought it pretty pointless.
  5. The 1983 'New Pence' 2p I received 2x 1983 Brilliant Unclirculated Royal mint sets today, each with a different 2p in it (one of them being the mule of course). I will arrange paying the seller (who was fully aware about the 2p situation) and I may hang onto this coin as there are a relative unknown amount of them in existance. Anyone know what these have been sold for recently? IMPORTANT: Anyone reading this that gets excited about the rare 'New Pence' 2p, please see this page, and don't email me to ask! http://www.predecimal.com/newpence.htm
  6. Ahh, thank's mate! Us honest coin dealer types have to work together and I have no problem with forum users refering to other sites that I know are very good. I did talk with Wybrit once about creating a definitive guide to British coin grading. Now I have this book thing, perhaps a printed publication would be a super idea.
  7. Good idea Kuhli, some kind of guide to grading British Coin types is well overdue. It may be easier to go by monarch head than coin type though, as in many cases the head stays more constant than the tail, and many heads across the denominations also suffered the same striking problems.
  8. Happy Larri, I see you've been busy and ordered Dr Sriro's CD and some other stuff. He will be pleased. I've emailed you about it and perhaps the Dr can help with your conder.
  9. I think you better PM Oli Jmd before you get yourself in more trouble!
  10. Show me a link then, I want to see other forums.
  11. Oh that's ok, I'll be going through deleting the odd double entry soon.
  12. What a wonderful team you are.
  13. Jmd, Put it in the Rotographic database so I don't forget, and I'll probably include it. (I assume you know how much it went for etc?)
  14. Hmmmm, that's what I thought, but there isn't really a massive number of people doing that. Most do come back to get the results in the forum. I'll keep it the way it is at the moment, and keep an eye on things.
  15. Stop taking things so seriously you big wolly! (I bet if you hung around all day in the sweet shop without buying anything you'd soon be removed. It would be like a group of people going into a pub sitting around chatting, staying warm, using the toilet facilities without buying any drinks) You can browse my shop all you like, you are welcome to come and go as you please.
  16. I'd make a huge loss, because I'd be temporarily stuck with another 10 BU 1950 Pennies! For a BU, with full Lustre 1950 Penny, £40 is full cat, but very fair. The things I do for my customers, and what thanks do I get...Gar Nicht!
  17. I did have someone offer me about 11 BU 1950 Proof pennies the other month, but I haven't been able to arrange meeting him, and I'm not even sure if he still has them. If you would pay £40 for a BU 1950 JMD, I can certainly contact him and check.
  18. Hmmmm, I have an EF 1950 with just the absolute very last smallest bit of lustre if I remember rightly. I have a proof 1937 Penny, It's £190 but comes with all the other 14 proof coins from the 1937 Proof set and the case of issue!
  19. What forum does he have William, and how do you know him? Oli: Yes, I mean if everybody became a member just to post images and ask one question we'd have so many dead members laying around, and then I'd have to cut them back and risk chopping off regular members again!
  20. At first, when it was just me and the odd passing tumbleweed I was greatful for any visitors, so I didn't like to hinder them posting in anyway, hence making it completely open to veiw and post in. Now it's much bigger I was thinking about enforcing registration, what do you lot think? There are many other benefits for members, including personal messaging to other forum users, the abilty to change your avatar, title, signature and other settings, also the way in which you see the forum can be customised to a degree, and your messages get counted.
  21. Ken, I'm sure Master Jmd wasn't referring to race in anyway, I think he just meant the kids that are little terrors, and perhaps 'scoundrals' would have been a better choice of words instead of implying what he did! Jmd, BEHAVE YOURSELF.
  22. Very true, I'm sure that process has it's roots somewhere in a past society where it was truly believed that the baby would be saved if it was baptised into the faith. Nowadays it just means that the baby grows up knowing that it was the subject of a ritual, and perhaps in many cases that child will grow up, not scared but perhaps confused in the least about acting against that religion and the possible consequences. When I think back about my primary school, it shocks me to remember how we had to sing songs praising the lord and his creations etc. I remember a definate 'believe in god, or you may go to hell' vibe going around the school. I'm sure this was started by playground gossip and not the teachers, but it really shows how confused kids can be, and how they can be so easily influenced at the age. When I used to work in schools in IT, I remember I was at a primary school in Kent hanging out with some of the teachers, as was often the case. The bell went and one of the teachers exclaimed 'Right, well I have to go and talk about god for 20mins (she was taking the assembly) and I don't even believe in one!'. I remember thinking....Who on earth exactly tells normal little primary schools that they have to tell bible stories in assembly if the teachers don't even want to do it? There must be money involved somewhere, even if it is just to put up a moral front to encourage more parents to send their children there. Schools should be completely neutral, but the kids should of course get the opportunity to learn about all the major world religions because they represent interesting cultural differences if nothing else. We learn't about those at secondary school, with the wars and death that they caused omited of course! People of all colours and races, from all backgrounds should live peacefully together everywhere, without the division of religion and outdated traditions. Religion should be welcomed on an idividual level, but religious institutions like Churches and Mosques etc should all be watched over (little pun there) and they should all have to follow the same rules concerning enforcement of religion on people too young to know better etc etc.
  23. No, I'll keep it here - It'll make you look stupid
  24. Some very good points raised by Oli and Custard, at last an area we all seem to agree on! I too think that people should be judged on their own morals etc, and that if you are at one with yourself you are at one with the world. I beleive that Religion/gods etc are not needed for 'spiritual' (if one can call it that) wellbeing and do not come into the equasion. I do believe that there was a Jesus though, but I doubt he wanted any of this in his name. I hope Reverend Plant doesn't find his way in here!
  25. You obviously haven't actually read anything on my website apart from the forum Oli! http://www.predecimal.com/euroarticle.htm
