  1. What a loss. Bonkers and so funny. A trailblazer, and what a way to go out- just two weeks after such a concert! Considered almost godlike when I was young, in the West Midlands- really flew the flag for that area. I helped my mate do Terry 'Geezer' Butler's garden in the 70's, and we used to play about in the kit room at Terry's house- my mate Matthew on Bill Ward's kit, and would mess about on a Minimoog. Terry came home one day and announced the new album, 'Never Say Die', and we listened to the acetates of the album, each disc one side each, on the standard 70's rocker hifi- turntable, Mackintosh amp, and big JBL speakers, in Terry's lounge. What an evening. It's still like it didn't really happen....

  2. Hello, sorry for not responding sooner. I'll see what the latest from the host is and in fact direct him to read this thread so he can get an idea about the sorts of errors ocurring.

  3. Your efforts are appreciated as I really do like the 20th century crowns and have followed them for many years. I would not necessarily take all of Davies or even Spink/ESC as gospel. They are good and informative bur I have found other errors or corrections. Again, I have never seen or had reliable information on a sterling 0.925 specimen. BTW, I used to be the main cataloguer for a major work.

  4. Last reference I found is from English Silver Crowns by Day. Footnotes 220 refers to the Annual Mint Report (which I shared earlier in the post) and 221 refers to the Communication to the author from the Libraria and Curator of the Royal Mint, dated April 25th 1961 (I shall find it and post it).
