Had a great time at the coin fair and it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. As I’m just a beginner, there were lots of bargains, as any coin was new to me. I picked up a range of Florins, Crowns and half Crowns as well as a few commemorative ones too. Really glad I went and I’ve got a good batch if coins to research now. i think I’ll be going to the Bloomsbury coin fest in December as well. Thanks for everyone’s advice, much appreciated.

I'll keep this short and sweet, not wanting to rabbit on too much, but the above sounds like a good idea. If you keep a pair of bright eyes you might spot some of the aforementioned 50p's. Hopefully any sellers will be dangling a decent price carrot for potential buyers. Of course, if anybody does become a millionaire as a result, the shock of all that money might make them need to see a quack. Especially if they're currently as poor as a church mouse. Perhaps a little off subject. I was in South Australia 900 km from Gosford NSW where I was living at the time. My wife was fiddling with the car radio which had 2GO (Gosford) on 107.9 MHz. Anyhow this station came in loud and clear. Obviously the signal was reflected off the ionized layers surrounding the earth. As a retired electrical engineer specializing in antennas and propagation I was impressed to experience something normally described in text books.
