  1. I know many aren't good, but this one is exceptionally bad. The "wear" on Britannia looks like 15 years worth. Anyway, it just kind of proves Colin's point that the look, is not indicative of the grade.

  3. From this side of the pond the contest appears rather unedifying. I would have thought there were more important issues in the world than two contenders bent on mud slinging. Fiddles, fires and Rome spring to mind. Trouble is, nothing gets done unless the President is the same colour as Congress and the Senate, but if they were of the same political persuasion, the thought of the potential havoc they could wreak is equally worrying. Neither of our countries benefit from our politicians.

  5. I managed to pick up two nice examples of 1911 Half crowns recently. The one has the usual alignment of Obverse and Reverse however the better of the two has a noticeable axis rotation. Has anyone else come across this with George V Half crowns and specifically 1911? If this a fairly common thing? I ask as I have not seen this on any of my other George V Half crowns.

  8. I know we can be unnecessarily suspicious at times, but I have to say that if ever there were an example of what shill bidding might look like, that has to be it. I'm not saying it definitely is, but if it were, it'd be a classic for training purposes, as we say at work

  10. I'd go for investigating both Trump and Clinton. They are both crooks. No matter who wins, America will lose.

  11. Well I have now started my "Jack The Ripper Set of coins. Below the Halfcrown I recently bought on eBay. I have graded this at between Good EF and almost UNC your views please would be a great help again.I must admit it looks a lot better in hand than the pictures represent. I also manage to find an 1888 Groat 4d as well will have to post pictures of that next.

  12. Right half way through my fine to AUnc 1958 halfpennies and have found at least 5 different teeth to border variations. I used percentage size of tooth to border ratio and found the following from the first 12 coins : 70% x 1; 75% x 5; 85% x 3; 94% x 1 and 102% x 2 (give or take 1%). I believe the 94% teeth to rim coin to be a Type G and the 102% with teeth larger than rim Type F. I maybe well off but would appreciate any input. There is definitely lots of variation.
