I would just give it a reference number. Ie shilling one penny one etc Then i would have all the details on a database with photos price paid when and where bought etc
Just for an alternative option, I write a small reference on the rear bottom corner and then store all the details digitally against that reference. I just feel that a lot of info on the front of my flips takes my attention away from the coin itself, but of course that's just preference..
You may rest assured that I do not have, nor have I ever had a narrow date 1877 penny. However, should I inadvertently acquire an uncirculated example, I will have to consider what to do with it............Sorry ...got confused between me Rob's and me Bob's....A bit like the mint they kept getting their R's and B's mixed up
