It looks like the picture of the coin sold on London Coins in auction 180 5/3/2023

Out of interest, may I ask where this picture came from ?

I've had another really good look at the two pictures and I feel sure I can see many duplicated marks on both pictured examples [ arrow marked ] ??? Your coin on right

The BP1860Jb you have listed on the website as you know sold for 3k. Which is a fair chunk of money, I get what you are saying. I was just using the F90 as example of early on when there is not many availible examples of a certain type they appear to do better at auction, thats the point I was making. Is there a collector out there ready to buy a BP1860Jb probably. Who knows what any given person may find interesting or how they value different types? I'm a complete beginner since three months hence all my questions and also mistakes. What is good for this type is Michael Gouby has acknowledged, confirmed and written about it. As I'm learning that in itself will increase interest for sure. Until now there was not another example availible which means no supply and in turn no demand. On its own maybe it's not so important but as part of a collection personaly I think it adds value.

You can't really compare this with the 1877 F90 which is one of the truly most sought after rarities in the bronze penny range, instantly recognisable and a true "variety", whereas the BP1860Jb is more of a "novelty" variety without being disrespectful to it. I suspect that not many people look for it, but it is interesting and congratulations for finding another example.

You seem to be talking about this coin on two threads , it really only needs one. How about photos so it can be verified and included on the database, which will make it more attractive. It really is quite hard to believe that you have found all these great rarities in only a couple of weeks when hundreds of highly knowledgeable collectors are looking out for them - you haven’t just bought someones collection? Are you a collector or a dealer? Most of us on this forum know a fair bit about each other (including in many cases our actual names) as members of quite a small community. At the moment you are just a moniker. Jerry

"The centre "A" bar is clear and solid. The coin I have clearly shows this. Nice to find one that has a MG number associated and from what I can see no other examples are known. When I look at the earlier prices for the F90 you can clearly see the early sales are higher value for worse condition coins. And as they have been discovered the prices drop off. Does this apply to this type? Same location, same size, clear and solid, and same die pairing.

thinking more about Maundy coins, I recall being offered a boxed set..... I was awake that morning at silly o'clock trudging around a field looking at one stop away from the local refuse site....It was something like the box was dated 1906 and all the coins inside were 1907....a marriage me thinks...I now see these on Ebay with the declaration of being uncirculated, genuine etc etc etc !?!?! to be honest I gave up as I have so much to work through and need to get this in a order, I did fill the gap In Grandads 3 Pence's and my upgrade ones that are really worn out...I held on to the really early Victorians as these although worn out they seem to be quite a rare thing to come by..... 🤔

Here's a definite Vigtoria. I don't think your G looks the same, even allowing for the condition. Compare it to the two Gs in D.G. and REG on "your" coin and I think it's pretty clear. Personally I think the seller saved you £6.

I too would doubt that it is a VIGTORIA, speaking as someone who already owns one. The ‘G’ component is not large enough or the right shape, though I agree the blurred photo is vaguely similar at a glance. Don’t loose sleep over it. And don’t advertise or share images until a coin is in your hand! Jerry
