Dear all.

I am a member of this forum since Nov. 2011. I know that I post quite rarely. But sometimes i would like to show you something interesting.

For that reason it is nessessary to include images into my posts. I remember that it was very sinple to link an image which was deposited in my photobucket account. That is not possible any more. Well... how can I include pictures into my messages?

Furthermore I would like to know why I can not correct my entries after submission? well... English is not my mother tongue. So, therefore and sometimes there are mistakes in spelling/grammar...

And I saw that modification of posts are possible. Is anybody out there to give me some advise in that regard?

many thanks :-)

Pasting from Photobucket works the same for me as it did before, except that I do not see the inserted image(s) until I have submitted the post.

I click in the IMG field and then CTRL + V into here:

This displays the URL until I submit the post, and the embedded image thereafter. I hope that helps!

Having just added that picture, I see the issue. It's those f***ing url tags again. The easiest way around the issue is to copy the "Direct Link" option and then use that with the "Insert image" from the toolbar.

You still have the URL link connected to your picture though.

Yes!

How have you done that??

Yes, you've also got to watch that Paulus because, when I click on your image, I can visit all 41 of your photobucket images, including those pictures of that woman taking a shower across the other side of your street! ;)

If you copy and paste the photobucket image link directly into the text field, just remember to delete the URL part...namely, and I'm trying to guess now, as I'm not on the PC, but the box at the end of the image info. And the long bit at the beginning with the URL tag involved in it!

I'm sure someone on a PC can post up an example??

Can you not just copy the 'Direct' link and then post it using the IMG icon. It'll then appear as such, with no annoying link.

Yes. That's the best way for PhotoBucket images. You can also configure PhotoBucket itself so that the annoying URL link tags don't appear.

It is certainly possible to post pictures directly here - go to the Beginners forum and there is a 'pinned' topic at the top explaining how to do it.

Pleased to see there's a pinned thread about it, Peck. I remember we discussed the matter and the different ways of posting pics here, a few months back, and I believe we concluded that the best way was indeed, copying and pasting the image link onto the post, direct from whichever image hosting site was being used.

By the way, superb 1866 and 1902 sixpences above.

Thanks '49, here's the obverse (it's also my avatar) as an excuse to practice this technique. Thanks Nick, Stuart and HC also, I don't mind people viewing my entire Photobucket library but pics without the links are definitely better!
