Thanks for any help.

When you say 'thanks for any help,' what is it you are asking? :)

Welcome and, whatever it is, someone here will know the answer, I'm sure! ;)

They are really only worth the bullion value, maybe the 1935 Crown will do a little more (£15-20)

The sovereign you should get around £220 for the half sovereign about £115 and the 2 1889 Crowns about £15 each.

Posted

1 First gold coin is a sovereign.George V.Bullion value £250 (Ebay you would get a bit more but have fees to pay)

2 Second coin is a half sovereign.Edward V11.Bullion value etc 50% of the above.

3 Third coin is a 50% silver crown.(nicknamed the rock horse crown)_GVF and worth £15 to £20

4 4th & 5th coins are Victoria Jubilee head crowns and 92.5% silver. The first one is F & worth £15 to £25 the second one much nicer VF ish and worth £25 to £40.

Do not clean them or sell to the bullion sharks (cash for gold etc)

As long as you picture them well you could start them at 99p and they will make their money (the gold coins going special delivery)

I hope this is what you were after....and welcome to the forum.

Sorry Coinery for the lack of a question, but it was asking for values of the coins.

Thank you John and Peter for the background information and values. I've always been interested in coins, and have inherited a whole range of coins and tokens. If it's OK, I'll add some photographs of them tomorrow.

Thanks again, and I'll probably try and find homes for them soon.

The second group are better than the first on condition.

I deal in tokens and cannot see anything there that screams rare. There are multiple varieties on most though due to pointing of features to letters, edge lettering etc. I would pay around £80 for a group like that in auction.

Hope that helps.

John.

I am no expert in tokens.John is. :)

If you want to sell Ebay is an option or speak to a dealer (John or Chris the owner of this site).

I have sold some on Ebay anywhere between 99p and £25.I let the market decide. It is a specialised field.

If you want to clear in a job lot with no fuss do the former.I'm sure if you open dialogue with the former a deal can be done.

In the 1st batch you have a cartwheel 1797 1d/2d..I haven't checked in detail.

If you studied them you would learn a lot. :)

I would prefer to sell them in as larger lot as possible as I don't really have the time with eBay and it's associated activities.

Open to offers for any of the items (not sure if that's broken any guidelines. Please remove if it does, and sorry), as they will probably be put back and left to collect dust.

Does anybody know about School Medals, such as Blundells School Keats Medal and the Poland Street Academy?

Thank you all again :D

There is an 'Items for Sale' forum - I'm sure you would be welcome to post them there.

No, you must be thinking of Miss W. H. I. P. Lash, who has an address in Soho (or so I'm told :D )
