Correction: each individual coin WAS worth between £100 and £200 - suddenly they are worth rather less! (If they make it to market, that is).

Probably an early example of quantitive easing from the roman period - obviously a roman bank manager buried a few stashes from the central bank of rome and forgot where this one was. :lol:

A bit of reserch on the net brings up the name fridericus goodwinus.

He now insists that it was not from the roman central bank but indeed part of his pension pot fron julius caeser that he just forgot about :o

Is that the same Fridericus Goodwinus that was a member of the Equestrian Order until he was expelled? :D Cathedra homo of Civilis Occidens Ripam? Or was it the Regius Ripam Caledoniae? :P
