Zo Arms Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Arrived from Spain yesterday. Pleased to say that it is one. 9 1/2 date space and D to a tooth. Far better condition than I was expecting. Via this thread, a population of 7, known or presumed, since 2008. Extremely rare, or only 5 people bothered to look for one. Possibly the latter.😁 3 Quote

Zo Arms Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 If Mr Freeman and Mr Gouby have never owned one, who was it that recognised the four die pairings? Mr Dracott? Quote

It could of been anyone Bob i guess ,as far as i can see its just a date width variety and probably more collectors made aware of it with the benefit of the internet ?. 1 Quote
Bronze & Copper Collector Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 It is actually 2 different obverses and 2 different reverses. The reverse being a difference in spacing. Quote

Yes although the two different obverse dies are well known and two different date widths that give four different die combination varieties instead of two ?. Edited August 19, 2024 by PWA 1967 Quote

I believe that to be fairly accurate, based on my recollection from when I was trying to locate examples for my collection. 1 Quote
