Hi to everyone, came across your forum today and decided to join, always interested to see other peoples coins. I metal detect so all my coins are out of the ground, but have had some good conditioned ones from time to time, like this milled lizzie sixpence post-4067-1198517848_thumb.jpg.

Thanks guys , first chance to reply since a busy xmas and new year. Hope yours was as good as mine. Managed to get out detecting the other day, didnt find much in the way of anything too old but did find two vicky pennys in the same hole one a 1860 and the other 1861, condition none too good thou, difficult to see if they are rarities , confused with obverse and reverse types. Is there an easy way?

There are a multitude of varieties in these two years, some of which are extremely subtle and impossible to judge below say, VF so if the coins are in poor condition, you may never know! If the coins are at all photographable, you can post them up here and we'll see what we can do.

That really is a magnificent sixpence by the way; in fact, so good that Spink's doesn't even give a price for it.

That is a much better example than I have seen in Spink or Baldwins. Truly one of those "My Gawd" coins :D
