Users may have noticed that the forum looks different!

My user account was hacked over the weekend and my password was changed! I could still use the forum but couldn't get into the admin area to do anything important. The nice people at Invision had to go in for me and reset my password. To stop this happening again they have also upgraded the forum to the newest version.

What this means for you is that it will all look 'default' until I get around to adding the header and some other little tweaks.

What it also seems to mean is that many of our signatures don't look right! I had to change mine and re-format it according to how the system now nices them to be! It will involve you going into 'My Controls' and basically creating a new signature using the buttons available. If you need any help let me know.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

I noticed this a few minutes ago, but I was able to get into Admin. Wonder if one of the spammers does this in frustration?

Over the weekend I got an email saying that I had requested a password change and should click the link to confirm (standard wording etc). I didn't click the link, but somehow my password had been changed. It had probably been done in the hope that a spammer could spam without the spam being deleted....I don't know. Nothing else was affected because all new members have to be aproved anyway.

The same thing happened a year or so ago.

Sorry to here about the bad news Chris. If it was spammers they are starting to stoop pretty low. :(

My Windows wasn't working today and I tried repairing it which didin't work so I had to format my C drive and do a complete re-instal. Needles to say I lost a lot of work and programs.

I have never understood the people whom deliberately destroy other peoples hard work or that deliberately spread viruses.

And everyone wonders why lots of people demand the return of the birch! I'm sure the upper echelons of IT know how to track these people, but count it as too costly to do anything <_<

It appears that you can only see images if you are logged in. If looking as a guest, you get the message this feature has been disabled and don't have permission to view.

Quoting doesn't seem to work either (but you can bet your life it wil on this one!) hence the 'q's at the beginning of several posts.

That is a given. I am logged in, but the code doesn't appear either. The URL link works, but the image tags don't.

Testing a quote.

Hmmm, you're right!

That's typical isn't it. Whenever something is upgraded things that worked perfectly less before start doing strange things!

I'm going to put another support request through to see if there is a simple fix (it's probably a new setting somewhere).

I don't think the quotes are working yet but its nice to see the forum returning back to normal Chris. :)

Quoting should work now!

Still no images available to guests unless they register and log in.

That is how we keep them from viewing our online coin porn

That's something else I need to sort out then...although it would save huge amounts of bandwidth.

A lot of non-coin forums make you register to see images. It induces people to register that are otherwise sitting on the fence, and we know the spammers are not here for pictures anyway. Plus I like the idea of cutting down on bandwidth, because my site recently generates a lot of it.

I like the idea of people being able to see things without registering. If it wasn't for the persistant foreign spam bots guests would still be able to post messages.
